Pours black into a tulip. Mocha head with excellent retention recedes to hug rim. Dark, dusty hot chocolate aromas. Thick with soy and licorice upfront turning to mild orange citrus before the lasting earthy espresso finish.

Bottle, shared by me... in my dining room... just now.
Pours basically black with a small, but well retained head and lots of lacing on the glass.
The aroma is just awesome. It’s pungent and chocolaty with some nice fruity hops & mild light coffee. It has a sort of chocolate on orange peel thing if you’re looking for it, but otherwise it just smells like a really rich & hoppy porter.

The flavor is very dominated by a very dark roasted malt character. It’s lightly sweet and on the mid to high range of bitterness. The hops I had alluded to in the aroma are pretty muted here in the flavor. It’s got chocolate & coffee flavors with a lightest hint of orange zest citrus character. The little bit goes a long way though. This is an enjoyable beer for sure.

Bottle. Poured a black color with an average frothy brown head that mostly lasted and produced excellent lacing. Moderate roasted dark malt and citrus aroma. Medium to full body with a smooth texture and flat carbonation. Medium to heavy toasted bittersweet flavor with a medium bittersweet finish of moderate to long duration. This is the very good brew.

Bottle shared by drsilverworm. Thanks! Pours a near black with no head. The aroma is astringent bitterness, I guess from the orange zest. They probably got too far below the surface. The taste is heavy astringent bitterness and some roasty qualities. I couldn’t take it. Oddly high carbonation. Glad the others tasting liked it. They got to finish mine.

11.2oz bottle, from Party Source. It was like $5, I think. Bottle actually has a best by date on the back, pretty amazing... Probably the first Mikkeller import bottle I’ve seen that had a best by date. 3/04/15. Dark brown color. Kind of clear, if you squint. Slight red hue. Thin brown head. Leaves good, thicker lace. Good roast, dark chocolate, some coffee. I get some yuzu citrus notes, I think, in the finish. Kind of zesty. Moderate to bigger bitter taste. Light sweet. Some nice coffee roast in the finish. Medium plus body. Smooth, kind of crisp, lighter carbonation, lightly soft. More dry finish... Friends are saying astringent. Light tart taste. Friends aren’t crazy about this, but I can’t help but like this.
