330ml bottle from Mikkeller Webshop
Pours pitch black with a thick brown head. Aroma of jaffa cookies, chocolate, orange peel, roasty malts and licorice. Taste is smooth, roasty and heavy with licorice notes, hints of orange zest and syrup. Finish is roasty, burnt and slightly fruity with hints of orange peel and citrus. Loads of orange in the aroma, but not so much in the taste.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Delectable. Pours a completely opaque black with a thick mocha tan head. The nose is rich, surprisingly fruity and a tad smoky. Heavy, rich roasted malts, coffee, vanilla, licorice. Smooth, moderate sweetness. Nicely balanced fruity to roasty contrast. A nice brew with moderately lingering bitterness, heavy roasted notes. Very good.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Poured into a 12oz tulip glass at Beer Revolution in Edmonton a dark brown almost black color with a finger of white head that leaves some decent lacing on the glass. Aroma is light coffee and dark chocolate with only a hint of orange zest. Taste is a chocolate malty sweetness with a roasted grain and coffee bitterness with a hint of orange zest in the finish. Overall, a well crafted porter that is nicely balanced and tasted great. Recommended.

Bottle from Blackrock cellar. Pours deep black with tan head. Orange, coffee, ashtray, chocolate, tobacco, toast, leather. Flavour is ashtray, a really harsh carbonated tobacco finish. Aroma is good but not too enjoyable on palate. Really weird.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Roasty, malty, thick, black, chocolate... ticks all the porter boxes. Not much in the way of orange zest though. Still. Really good beer. Quite bitter and hoppy on the finish.

3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle 330ml (Firmabier)
Dark brown color, good brownish head, some lace. Aroma is quite interesting combination of chocolate, smoke, rubber and light fruityness. Medium to full-bodied. Well-roasted, chocolaty porter with cocoa and long bitter aftertaste. Actually less "zesty" than expected but hoppy. Very robust for this ABV.
