Bottled. Deep golden. Fruity, papery malt aroma. Sweet with clean, rounded mouthfeel, medium body and odd notes of pineapple. Low bitterness. Not sure what they wanted to achieve.

2 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20
355mL. Pours a clear orange amber with a medium to small, semi-rocky, off-white head. More meringue like in the retention. Decent lace. Aroma is sweet grape, cherry but as it warms acetone and nail polish remover. Taste is sweet moving quickly to hyper metallic. Palate is dry rust, blood iron. Fizzy carbonation.

2.2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
Bottle from The Australian Hotel in Sydney. Pale amber, caramel malt dominating the aroma and the flavour. Boxboard character in the finish with low carbonation suggests some oxidation problems maybe? Pretty average.

2.3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20
Bottle. Sweet and malty, with some light estery fruit, touches of caramel and a honeyish sweetness. Didn’t really know what to make of it, but it wasn’t that good.

2.2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20
Colour of the body reminded me of a pink champagne. Then the aroma I thought was oatmeal, a touch of cloying honey, smooth mouthfeel, sweet, malt, but no real body an - A.F.L. even if it was 5.6%

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle, at the Australian Hotel, The Rocks, Australia.
Deep amber, with sticky malts throughout. Packing a punch. Consumed at the end of a very big session with Dad and Tom. A bit surprised that the everyone has rated this so lowly. Will need to retry.

3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
5 for 5 on appearance. Massive plume of white foam sits a good inch above the rim of the glass and an inch deep into it. Brilliant light copper body with a fine bead that is slow to rise. Head holds and shades the glass white in its wake. Aroma of dusty cocoa, wood and charred pine, and a little rust. Has a noted alcohol spice to it also, strange! Very woody and malt driven palate, quite dry with a shy toffee flavour and burnt sugar note under layers of toasted and crystal grains. Roasted nuts late, evident higher alcohol note on the swallow, a little harsh for something of such medial ABV. Some hops dance around the swallow, peppery and spicy to die off there. Finish is more malt with a very soft whiff of milk chocolate. Body is medium-light, quite soft in carbonation. Aside from the alcohol kick this wasn’t too bad. Not exactly session material though!
