3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 maeib (7557) - Wootton, Northampton, Northamptonshire, - NOV 12, 2012Cask conditioned handpump Far From The Madding Crowd Oxford 02/11/12. A golden coloured beer with an off-white wisp of head. A reasonably hoppy beer with obvious US hops. Some sweet chewy malts detract but it’s tasty enough.
2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 jmgreenuk (1288) - The Hague, NETHERLANDS - DEC 29, 2012
Cask at the Post Office Vaults, Birmingham. Poured a clear amber colour with a thin broken head. The aroma is malty but weak. The flavour is very bitter and slightly fruity, but the aftertaste isn’t pleasant. This beer doesn’t really work as an American IPA for me. Time to revisit the hop selection.
2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 AshtonMcCobb (1456) - Edinburgh, SCOTLAND - OCT 10, 2012
On tap @ the Haymarket. Pours golden, no head - a friend then bought another pint and there was a head, so benefit of the doubt on this one. The nose is of light citrus and hay. The taste has more of the same. The palate is medium bodied with a tangy texture and a clean finish. Overall, solid but not worth having more than 2.

Cask @ Haymarket, Edinburgh 021012
Amber clear, thick white head, good lacing
Aroma - faint citrus and pale malt, little aroma
Taste - light citrus bitter hops, mainly pale sweet caramel malts, soft flavours, soft zest, slight butterscotch malts, easy, alcohol not noticeable
Palate - soft carb, medium body, oily palate. Finish - soft sweet pale malts, bit of pale biscuit, fairly bitter linger
Overall - OK golden ale but not hoppy enough to be an APA

Cask conditioned at The Crown, Oxford. Gold with white head. I was expecting a heap of hops with this but they were very restrained, some orange citrus perhaps but only slightly, bitter, flowery, disappointing.

Cask, William Wygston, Wigston. Golden with a thin foam. Aromas are leafy and peppery with lemon and grapefruit. Woody and herbal with melon and spices. Flavours are woody and dry with bitter grapefruit and citrus pith. Low malts with marmalade and green, peppery herbal notes. Quite resinous and tasty.

Cask at the Duchess of Cambridge, London, during the American Beer Festival. Pours clear gold with a fine, white foam head. Dry, pale malts and toasty straw in the nose. Light to medium sweet flavor with toasty pale malts, white bread, some lemon and other pithy citrus, pineapple. Light to medium bodied with fine carbonation. Great condition. Mild dryness to finish with plenty of rindy citrus, dry grass and straw. Pretty decent.
