500ml bottle from doddington hall farm shop. Slightly hazy golden colour with very little head. Aroma has fruit and citrus. The taste has more citrus and some wheat. A touch sweet.

Cask at The Barton Arms; hazy golden yellow pour with off white head, slight citrus aroma, not much going on in the taste, a hint of honey, citrus and malts with a small amount of bitterness.

Cask Conditioned Handpump Rowell Charter Rothwell. A golden beer with a whitish head and lacing. An uninspiring beer which is sweeter than I’d like. A bit yeasty with uninteresting hop character. A typically dull beer from Milestone who only seem to do dark beers well.

Cask Handpump at the Prior John JDW, Bridlington 05/12/2009 Floral aroma. White head. Golden coloured smooth on the palate and a little fruity with some bitterness and dryness in a lasting malt finish.

UPDATED: JAN 7, 2011 Cask at Wellington Arms, Bedford. Gold with a small white head. Initial rather startling composty aroma later became more traditionally citric. Taste was rather thin, I thought, with watery fruit. Slight bitterness. Nothing much happening here. ’Star-like golden ale bursting with flavour,’ they said? They lied. 7.1.11 Cask, gravity at Pig ’n’ Falcon, St Neots, Cambridgeshire. Better this time. Autunm leaf taste with a trace of marmite. Rating 6,4,6,4,12:3.2

Cask Conditioned at Market Porter, London
Golden color, thin head. Average simple Ale, just a notch above, say, Boddington’s (and because it doesn’t have the widget). Boring.

Bottle. Golden with an off-white head. Aromas are citrus and grain with spicy, lightly bitter hops. Flavours are soft citrus with wheat. Also sweet apricot with hints of melon. Fruity and dry on the finish. Decent.
