Cask at the Wellington Arms, Bedford. Medium brown, small white head. Cola, plums and birch beer in the aroma. Smooth fruity taste. The bitter hop note keeps the intensity of the sweetness at bay. Slight increase in bitterness for the finish, although I’d still prefer more balance. Fairly weak body.

Cask (handpump) @ The Bree Louise, 69 Coburg Street, Euston, London, England NW1 2HH.

Clear dark brown amber colour with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, dark malt, wood, tobacco, light roasted. Flavor is moderate sweet and bitter with a long duration, malt bitter. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft to flat. [20121208]

Cask handpull, The Crown, Nuneaton. Brilliant copper with cream drapes. Again, wet cat food aroma; Whiskas Turkey and heart - 3. Starting to question The Crown’s method of dispense. Flavour hugely better; cream and sesame, dusting of choc, berry fruit. Recovered well from a dodgy start.

A Mes rate: 50cl bottle at the Magic_dave6 shindig at Chris O’s.
Slightly hazy golden brown with a good white head. Tropical fruit (kiwi?) in the aroma. Similar flavour with heavy lychee too. Yeasty and lightly hoppy.
