3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
On cask on a messy night in Sheffield - Deep black body, decent tan head. Nose is dark chocolate, with a light sugar background. The taste is helped by an excellent body, with the sweetness making this too easy to drink. I know I enjoyed this, but several scenes have been deleted from what followed.

2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 10/20
Cask @ White Lion, Heptonstall. Very dark red with a small creamy off-white head. It’s mainly a porter with the honey very light but providing a small sweetness and small smoothness to the ales texture.

Bree Louise. Cask. Clear deep red amber beer. Few pale tan bubblee for a head. Palate is light and semi dry. Modest fine carbonation. Very mild dark malts, tangy. Whisper of marmite. Light finish. Ho hum!

Gravity cask at the Bree Louise - London. Pours deep brown with a slight, bubbly tan head. Nice aroma, some rich cocoa, charred earth, tar, dark fruits. Light sweet flavor, more dried fruits, burnt cereal, dry cocoa, earthy bitterness. Medium bodied with fine carbonation. Nice finish, more leathery fruits, raisin, earth, cocoa. Very decent.

Dark red colour... Sweet, rather bland flavour. Not a lot going on, but it is different. Wood drink again.

Cask@moonunderwater, wolverhampton. Dark brown beer medium head with good lacing. Aroma is a little sweet and roasted. Taste is dry and sweet coffee hops, a little strange. Slightly carbonated. Ok.

Pint at the Nag’s Head in Reading. Black with a fair bubbly head. Porter with a sweet streak, but subtle. Aroma is a confused mixture of what it says on the tin. An interesting idea, but the execution is questionable.

Cask-conditioned at the Gryphon, Bristol 16/10/2012. Near black with a slight, off-white head. Roasted malts and plain chocolate aroma. Flavour had some coffee, a suggestion of floral, honeyed sweetness and dryish finish. Good.
