3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
My Bottom Line:
This standard, leafy Brown Bitter offers velvety caramel malts and subtle minerals before delving into slightly acidic fruitiness.
Further Personal Perceptions:
-A veil of foam settles atop the bright, clear copper.
-The leafy hop character is prevalent.
-The flavour profile is well put together, but this remains a standard Brown Bitter.
-Everything is balanced. The acidic touch in the finish though is not what I like in this type of brew.
On cask at Turf Tavern, Oxford.

2.2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20
Cask at Wellington Arms, Bedford. Amber. A little yeastiness in the aroma. Taste is malty with a metallic tang, plus a rather off-putting farmyard aftertaste. Some bitterness. Didn’t like this.
