Cask handpull at Notts BF 05. Hey I get to tick off another style. Chestnut colour with thick beige head from a tight sparkler. Just a bit dead. Some caramel, not a lot of flavour, Bit creamy in mouth.

Cask conditioned at The Dun Cow, Hornton, Oxon. Amber red beer with slight head. Smooth creamy beer, highly and sweetly malted, few hops, but reasonable enough.
2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 maeib (7542) - Wootton, Northampton, Northamptonshire, ENGLAND - OCT 24, 2005
UPDATED: NOV 11, 2012 Cask conditioned - handpump - Nottm BF. Served at the Milestone brewery bar through a very tight sparkler. Any aroma was forced out of this beer by its dispense method. The ruby coloured beer had a viciously large creamy head - no thanks!! The taste is slightly malty but it’s so wishy washy watery. I thought I was drinking John Smiths Extra Smooth. Really sad. Score 1.9 Subsequent ratings scored 3.2 and 2.9. Average becomes 2.7

Cask (handpump) at The Star Inn, Bath, April 2006. Certainly ruby (and a rather handsome shade at that), but not particularly rich to my taste. Mainly malty, and on the sweet side. Not enough balancing hop presence for my taste. Competent, but really my thing.

A Mes rate:
Gravicask up the Junction. Copper / amber colour. Caramel and maybe a little diacetyl in the aroma. Malty toffee flavour. Watery palate. So so.

Cask at Hamilton Hall, JDW, London. Pours clear, copper-gold witha moderate, white foam head. Bready malts in the nose with suggestions of ripe berries and other fruits. Medium sweet flavor with lots of bready malts, light toasty brown sugar, hints of caramel, berries. Light bodied with fine carbonation. Finishes with decent sweetness and mellow, leafy bitterness, some further toasted sugars, bread and caramel. Good and sessionable.
