Colour: Golden yellow. The use of Mount Hood as the aroma hop gives this beer a pungent hoppy fruitiness; think citrus fruit notably lime. There is also a hint of cereal malt on the nose which evokes the spirit of the mash from whence the beer came. On the palette the overwhelming sensation is citrus fruit (lime marmalade but also overripe grapes spring to mind) along with warming alcoholic esters before a bitter, hoppy and dry finish which is enlivened by lasting citrus (lime) and grainy malt making a late surge. A delicious blonde beer to be taken with care.

Cask at the Pump House, Shirley, Solihull. Poured a crystal clear medium amber with a frothy white head and lots of clingy lace. The aroma is light dry yeast, malt, citrus hop. The flavour is moderate to light bitter with a light woody hop, pepper spice palate. Medium bodied with soft carbonation.

Cask handpull at The Crosse Keys Bishopsgate as Milk St Beer Blonde, 5.0%. Translucent dark amber, still, foamy off white head. Aroma is damp gravel, cardboard, candyfloss. Body is smooth with soft carbonation. Taste is very strange papery candyfloss, bubblegum, cardboard, a mouthful of straw and boiled sweets, light sugary malt. Perplexing. Probably sounds nice from what Iíve written but itís thin, papery and astringent. Nope. It did grow on me and I finished my half but it was a bit of a struggle.

Cask at The Moon Under Water (JDW), Watford on 21 Jun 2012. Poured golden, with a spotty white head. Aroma of soft fruit, floral hops and grass. Some fruity hop flavour, with bready malt and straw. Finish was chewy grain, peaches and hay.

Copper-brown, thin white patchy head; no big aroma; thick mouthfeel; grainy malt and chewy juicy citrus fruit quickly gives way to a hoppy bitter finish; thereís nothing wrong with it, but itís nowhere near as good as their Zig Zag Stout, which I forsook to try this.

Cask at the South Western Arms, St Denys (Soíton) - 09/09/12. Clear golden with a white head that soon thins. Sweet malt and toffee on the nose. Caramel in the taste, medium bodied with a slightly smokey dry finish.

Live from Knickersby Spoons. Bright gold with a loose white top. Muted lime and tangerine aroma. Solid husky foundations overlaid with orange-accented hop. Some warm Tupperware impressions; almond and oatmeal traces. Bitter finish softening into pear and malted milk biscuit. Not bad.

Fine looking, golden ale with little aroma, but its fine texture ensures a great taste.
