Mill Creek Penitentiary Porter

Black with dark mahogany edges and a tannish head. Strong roast and cocoa in the nose. A snatch of mocha almost. Bitter hops as well. The flavor contains roasted malts, cocoa, and maybe some wheat malts. Just a touch of astringency. Thick body with a roasty bitter finish.

Near black colour. Light coffeeish, slighlty nutty aroma. Smooth body. Slight roast acidity. Like a mild, sweet coffee.

Dark black, bright ruby red edges, tan head, little lacing. Nose of cherry, robust roast, bitter chocolate and moderate astringency. The flavor is slightly medicinal but it works with the astringency. Finishes peppery and more robust. Not bad.

Clear bown with a ring of off-white bubbles. Tons of caramel, molasss and old fashioned licorice in the aroma. Sweet with a light bitter finish. Lingering roast and licorice.
