Hazy amber beer, suddy off white head. Soapy hop nose. Dry palate, fairly smooth. Salty toffee and bitterish orange hops. Finishes dry with a trace of soap. Not the smoothest of barleywines and mildly infected to boot!

Bottle from Pigs Ear Beer Festival, consumed on 3 December 2010. Fortunately, this bottle seemed in better shape than the ones some other raters seem to have got. Dark amber colour. Lively but not over-carbonated. Very fruity. Rich and a little sweet. Slightly woody and a little vinous. Pleasant enough.

Bottled from Kris Wines Deep amber. Sourish and fruity; strawberries and cherries. Weird...
