3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20 DerWeg (1394) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - NOV 5, 2005
UPDATED: NOV 30, 2007 A very good fusion wheat beer idea - Belgian wit fresh coriander etc. spicing is very up front while the body is more solidly Bavarian and fruity. The finish falls apart a bit as I get to the end of the glass - the finish becomes more sticky sweet and the herbs a bit oddly vegetal. Still an impressive flourish of style from a cool brewer. This could become a winner! < slight re-rate . this beer has evolved a few times since it began, and is less herbal and now more a straightforward tribute to a Bavarian Hefe. A la the Denisons they used to contract-brew, maybe a Baby Denisons with a small Belgian twist - it’s an enjoyable quenching wheat ale and that’s all that matters.
3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20 iam (369) - Mississauga, Ontario, CANADA - AUG 13, 2005
Hazy, rather opaque, clover honey colour with a decent white head. Typical wit aromas of sprices, banana and citrus, just not as pronounces as some others. Taste is very German exept for the spice. Very refreshing.

Cloudy white-gold w/ a slightly fizzy white head. Fresh, yeasty (banana, lemon, orange) aroma w/ notes of wheat, coriander, & clove. Light, grainy feel--perhaps a little too carbonated. Yeasty, slightly acidic flavour w/ a good wheaty maltiness. Some spiciness in the finish.
4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 Tatterdash (10) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - AUG 7, 2005
An excellent example, on tap at the Toronto Festival of Beer 2005. Very hazy honey coloured with a hint of orange. Huge nose of orange and banana, with a taste to match. Lots of spice in the finish. My favourite from the festival, I hope they bottle this.

Draught sample at TFOB 2005. Very hazy yellow with a small but persistant white head. Frash, yeasty aroma with the expected banana & clove notes. More of those in the flavour, along with some bubblegum & lemon. A very refreshing example of the style, well done.

UPDATED: AUG 26, 2005 Draught. Sampled at 2005 Toronto (Fort York) Festival of Beer. Poured a murky, opaque bright yellow with an average white head. Aroma - banana! - noticeable ashy hops, yeasty malt, coriander spiciness and strangely, honey-garlic. Flavour of lemon and orange, banana split sweetness, just enough mild hops to remind you it’s there. A bit juicy and candyish on the palate, but not as harsh as a german-style wheat usually is. Like a less sophisticated, less balanced cousin to the Denison Weissbier.

hazy yellow, white head. aroma of spicy yeast, biscuits, banana, clove, mild orange and lemon. a little coriander in the flavour. without it this would be very german tasting. refreshing and quaffable.
3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 Gorbalev (2827) - Ontario, CANADA - JUL 29, 2005
Tap, Beer Bistro. Cloudy yellow, bubbly white head. Strong coriander in aroma/ Syrupy, yet active mouthfeel. Taste of strong coriander and a sweet, candy like malt base. Lots of lemon as well - interesting original take on the style. The sweetness got just a tad cloying for me at the end, but otherwise, a refreshing solid effort.

Hazy pastel yellow with orange hue, small white head. Spicy aroma -
coriander? hint of lemon. Flavour is light, with lemon and coriander spice
dominant, mild fruit. Average palate, touch light but suitable for the beer.
Quite pleasant, one of the better Belgian Wheats I have tried. Nothing mindblowing but you could easily quaff a few of these in a sitting.
