Gpnterojd (132), Waterloo, Ontario, Canada Aug 19, 2007 Updated: Nov 26, 2007 Bottle. Hazy yellow liquid, pours with a nice thick head. Aroma is citrusy and vanilla with some note of an odd salmony character. Even odder is the fact that this does not detract. Flavor gives a subdued melange of spices and a little lemon, while occasionally picking up the odd quality described in its aroma. The taste is perhaps a bit on the light side. Overall, not a bad offering -- there are better wits, but I found this one quite enjoyable. Update Nov 4th 2007 - Seems to have gotten better. Flavour is a pleasant orange, yeast and maybe honey(?). Update: This batch doesn’t taste at all like my previous description. A strong orange aroma. Pours whitish-clear yellow. Flavour is quite possibly the most attractive I have come across in a wheat beer. Loads of orange citrus, wheat and hops. Very fruity. The aftertaste is almost a sour tinge. Nummy.
Rcr84 (33), Canada Oct 10, 2008 Bottle from LCBO - Pours the standard cloudy, yellow with thin head. Orange peel very noticable in aroma. Overall a very enjoyable Wit, one of the better ones around. KyotoLefty (202), Kyoto, Japan Sep 20, 2008 On tap at the Brewpub.
Cloudy, deep yellow with a thin but persistent head. Rich wheat malt aroma, with orange, spices, banana, strong citrus notes. Thick, rich wheat flavor, somewhat like a big hefeweizen, but spiced like a Belgian wit. Very cake-like. Huge bananas. Thick but spritzy-clean palate. Very nice, merging the Bavarian and Belgian styles to some extent. Oakes (6979), Miami Beach, Florida, USA Sep 19, 2008 Pale opaque yellow. Lemony, peachy, orangey aroma with light spice and some wheatiness. Assertive citrus, quite tart and wheaty. Subtle coriander at the back, and fairly dry. Beershine (1440), Miami Beach, Florida, USA Sep 18, 2008 At brewpub. Hazy pale yellow banana color. Small off-whit ehead. Lemon, orange, mint, and cilantro in nose. Fizzy mouthfeel. Slightly tart, fairly complex body includes lemon and yogurt and citrus zest. Nicely crisp, and refreshing. CapFlu (3340), Victoria, British Columbia, Canada Aug 31, 2008 (Draught) Sampled at the Manx in Ottawa on August 29, 2008. Pours a lasting white head atop a cloudy yellow body. Nose is very citrus and a snippet of Belgian yeast. Wow... Unbelievably tart. Very disagreeable. Geez. 6/3/3/1/6
