3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Roasty aroma of coffee and chocolate. Opaque near-black colour. Flavour of roasted malt, coffee, and nuts. Sustained bitterness. Heavy body with strong carbonation. Good flavours but a bit too bubbly for my liking.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Pours a dark brown with a tan head and nice lacing. Taste is roasted malt with coffee and dark chocolate. Pretty normal for a stout, but nothing stands out as exceptional but I’d have it again.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Dark malt aroma with slight sour scent, pours black with a tan nitro head. Very smooth palate due to the nitro, medium bodied, fairly strong flavour, burnt flavours, dry, chocolatey, medium length finish. Nice smooth stout.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
440ml can from the LCBO, poured into a pint glass. Poured deep brown/black, with little to no head and just a thin ring of foam around the edge. No lacing to speak of on the glass. Aroma - roasted malts and coffee, wood smoke, perhaps a hint of vanilla. Taste - again, lots of malt, sweeter than I expected but not cloyingly so. Coffee too, but not much else - thin and watery feel on the palate, low carbonation, reminds me of bottled Guinness. Hops are way back in the wings, drying out the finish but never asserting themselves in a significant way.
Overall a pleasant stout, very drinkable, but not memorable. Puts me in mind of winter nights at the pub, quaffing pints of Guinness or Murphy’s over steak pies, chips & gravy.

From a big can this has thing that sizzles inside once you pop the top. One of the nicest pours youll see. Just a simple beery smell. Good mild flavors of roasted yumminess. No real alky in yer face, just a simple emjoyable dark beer. However, being a spoiled american, it would be nice to have a little co2 sizzle in this. Yea, never could get used to those cask or nitro beers.
