3.2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 11/20 zeek (129) - British Columbia, CANADA - JAN 31, 2012
Pours black with minimal head that has huge bubbles. Head fizzes out immediately leaving minimal aroma. Taste is almost sweet, minimal malt coming through, good in a strange way though.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 HeistAlmighty (470) - Saint John, New Brunswick, CANADA - JAN 22, 2012
341ml bottle. Light coffee and malt aroma. Pours black with ruby highlights, moderate, short-lived milk chocolate head. Taste is dark roasty coffee and roasted malts. Sweetness is not very strong and the bitterness is mostly from the coffee. Body is rather light. Porters are supposed to be lighter than stouts but this skewed toward sessionable. Overall, it was rather good, but could have used a richer body and/or a bolder taste. Good coffee beer for the notice.
3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20 Savvy1982 (1309) - Lethbridge, Alberta, CANADA - JAN 5, 2012
Bottle at The Owl. Pours clear black with a garner flash. 1-finger tan head, really nice lacing. Nose is big sweet instant-coffee, some light soapy roast, toast, some tart raisiny fruit. Flavours of tart ashy fruit, some dark chocolate, and loads of coffee. Very balanced, and a bit short on the finish.
2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 1/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20 Phatman (103) - Ottawa, Ontario, CANADA - DEC 15, 2011
from bottle. a weak porter with a carbonated frothy tan head that doesn’t stick around. tastes of deeply roasted malts with the typical coffee notes of a porter. really not worth going on about as some reviews here seem to. It is a weak porter that doesn’t really reflect the true style, it lacks the deep, rich, complex flavours of malts, coffee and chocolate. Very tame.
4.1 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 rejtable (358) - Ontario, CANADA - NOV 28, 2011
Love this beer! Big coffee presence up front - a bitter burnt coffee like Starbucks. Some bitter dark chocolate backing. Medium body with a light creamy feel in the mouth. Great stuff!
4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 Hammy78 (437) - Dundas, Ontario, CANADA - NOV 2, 2011
Bottle purchased at the Barton Street LCBO in Hamilton Ontario. Pours dark dark dark brown/ black colour, wicked khaki head and lacing. The nose is coffee and chocolate roasted malt, sweet chocolate though. Tastes like a bitter dark chocolate and cold coffee. Quite sweet on the back end. Really quite nice, I look forward to having this brew again, doesn’t hurt that it came with a decent glass either.

UPDATED: SEP 10, 2011 Bottle. Those who like coffee may like this, but for me the coffee flavour was just too intense.
