garthicus (531), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Apr 11, 2008 Bottle from ’The Beer Store’ - Black as hell, huge frothy baileys colour head. Coffee and blackcurrent aroma, twinges of malt. Flavour: Mild espresso & chocolate with some pepper, not a heavy consistancy, in fact quite thin. It has a very short milky finish, not a bad little beer at all.
blipp (680), Grand Island, New York, USA Aug 16, 2008 Bottle at Smokeless Joes in Toronto. Pours near black with a tan head. Sweet aroma of coffee and fruit. Flavor is a bit smoky and sweet, very roasted, with loads of coffee and a bit of fruit and caramel. Very nice. Gypsy19 (186), AMERICA RISING, USA Aug 13, 2008 Courtesy of Tommy84. Coffee indeed. Perhaps even a little too much of it, but a great element nevertheless. Very roasted flavor overall. A little bit of sweetness could’ve made this beer even better. In any event, satisfying, recommended. hopson (469), Williamsville, New York, USA Jul 21, 2008 pint-brewery- delicious- strong semi-astringent bitterness that undoubtedly recalls coffee. smooth roasted flavors accompany. a fine porter. Linus_Stick (1510), Moon Township, Pennsylvania, USA Jul 4, 2008 Via trade with matt7215. Thanks! A delicious porter. Aroma was weak for the style and what the name suggests. Of course, there was coffee throughout. Pour was a nice deep dark brown with a thin near tan ring for a head. Taste was very full. Strong coffee with caramel malt in the front and a hint of bitterness in the aftertaste. Decent carbonation and mouthfeel. Nice. azlondon (480), Greater London, England Jul 1, 2008 Appearance: Very dark brown, thick. Little bit of tan head.
Aroma: Coffee, slightly burnt. Malt.
Taste: Coffee and malt. Some chocolate? Quite nice.
