3.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
I must admit, I like my Coffee Porters to be a bit more subtle in the coffee presence. Much like Alley Kat Brewingís version of the style, Mill Streetís Coffee Porter comes on big and strong in the roasted coffee. However, the base Porter style is clearly well developed in this beer. As a rater, I can see the many good qualities of this beer, even though itís not one of my favorites.

I actually had hope for this beer, given the its favourable scores here, but yet again I find myself underwhelmed by a Mill Street offering. It looks ok, though thereís no retention or lacing at all, so it could be a glass of coke. Nose is faint coffee and chocolate, and very little else. Taste is stale coffee and chocolate and watery. This tasted really watery to me. The finish is dryish, but in an acidic, almost sour kind of way. Iím really not sure what the fuss is about, nor am I sure why I keep trying Mill Street beers.

Pours pitch black with very little head. The aroma has notes of coffee, chocolate, and dark roasted malt. Tasting notes include coffee, dark chocolate, and rich roasted malts. The body is full, and earthy. Nice porter!!

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Definitely one of the best beers brewed by millstreet... Pours an opaque black with a frothy brown head. Aroma of roasted malts, coffee, light chocolate and nuts. Taste is roasted malts, coffee that blends together nicely and has a smooth bitterness into the finish. Excellent porter!

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Pours a deep cola brown with no head or lacing. Nose is muted, coffee and roasted grain. Taste follows suit, mild bitter coffee and nutty malt. Body tends to the thin side, with low carbonation and a medium dry bitter finish.
Not bad, but nothing thrilling - a moderate porter with a mild coffee edge. I was a little disappointed the airport brew pub didnít have this on tap, but I have to assume they at least have decently new bottles of their own beer... Donít I?

Rich aroma of dark roasted coffee and chocolate. Opaque deep brown colour with tints of red when held to the light. Heavy flavour of coffee as well as notes of dark chocolate with a medium bitterness. Full bodied without being to thick.

Had a 6 pack many yrs back, then about 3 yrs ago in winter they sold single bottles with a different glass, bought this one donít have glass no more. Got a mill street shirt and 2 vouchers off them to be used on 4 cans or a 6 pack @ beer store of there beer so picked this up and see no review so here goís:
Smell is cherry, chocolate and roastedness from bottle. Rostedness and chocolate from glass. 2 finger brown head. Black beer. Starts off wet, then disapers into chocolate that lingers around and then a roasted toasted coffee note with a little bitterness from the coffee. This time around the chocolate seems alot more notied then I can remember. Cheerís. Good beer.

"Very nice super dark brown appearance. Smelling the coffee and roasted malts almost immediately. Head doesnít really stay long. Taste is fairly strong, coffee, hints of chocolate, nuts, wow. Mouthfeel is of a spicy variety, or more like tingly on the inside. Pretty damn smooth going down. I love my coffee and my beer, and these go so well together. "

The aroma, while mild, is very pleasant dark coffee. Flavour is more coffee with malt and hints of vanilla and chocolate. Very clean, simple, tasty and easy drinking. I absolutely love the flavour, but I just wish there was more of it. Not very robust for a porter. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
