Bottle. Medium amber, crystal clear, average off white head that fades rapidly. Fruity caramel nose and palate, lightly toasty, moderately hoppy, clean finish. Fine.
3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20 neuromatt (858) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - DEC 23, 2012
12 oz bottle from the LCBO, served in a shaker. Pours clear caramel with a moderate tan head that fades slowly to a thin remnant. The nose has a surprising hoppy note, along with caramel and a slight earthiness. The flavour is moderately sweet with an herbal maltiness. The finish is long, with notes of caramel and herbs. On the palate, it is medium in body with a smooth, milky texture. Overall, this is a fairly simple malty sweet brew but fairly tasty. 2012-03-22
3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 HogTownHarry (5655) - Toronto (Harbourfront), Ontario, CANADA - SEP 9, 2012
May 23, 2011 - on draught at the Brewpub in Toronto. Really attractive bright, clear and refractive copper, not much head. Smells like a bock - sweet grain, a bit floral. Taste follows, a little pungent with more bitterness, but very sweet, like a candy necklace. Average body, chewy, decent but low-level carbonation with a surprisingly long(ish) pungent floral finish overcoming the OTT sweetness somewhat.
3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 worldbeertaste (1126) - Lancashire, ENGLAND - AUG 22, 2012
Deep dark brown amber with a quick disappearing head. Smells of light roast caramel, malt and alcohol. A light musky tone. Medium smooth and yet biscuity body. Smooth tasge of brown sugar, malt roast, caramel and and earthy biscuit that is slighlty bitter. Easy to drink, enjoyable and not overpowering.
3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 Lagerboy (672) - British Columbia, CANADA - JUN 7, 2012
Clear copper, off white head vanishes. Smokey caramel malty aroma. Rich roasty caramel malt taste, some light bitterness and dark fruitiness. Softly carbed, light bodied, low hopped. Light bittersweet finish. A decent, mild bock. LF (Lagerboy Friendly)

Amber body with a thin beige head and tons of carbonation. Sweet and corny mats with a few odd fruity notes and sweet caramel, toffee notes. Caramel malts and a bit of an off flavor. Overall, not bad, but not great either.
3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 Strangebrewer (632) - Chatham, Ontario, CANADA - MAR 31, 2012
bottle. Poured clear very deep copper with a small off-white head, little retention. Light malt aroma. Very slick mouthfeel, smooth carbonation, medium body. Flavour is malty with notes of raison but has a vegetal hoppines. Alcohol is well hidden.
2.4 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20 kevinsenn (552) - Waterloo, Ontario, CANADA - MAR 26, 2012
Bottle from store at the Toronto brewpub. Pours a clear light brown. Aroma of caramel and booze. Toasty caramel taste, which quickly becomes too sweet. Thin body, which is surprising for a 7% ABV Doppelbock. I only had 1/3 of a glass and that was enough for me.
2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20 solidfunk (1842) - Ontario, CANADA - MAR 22, 2012
This tastes like strong alcohol and not much more. Really not that good. An empty taste with a touch of watery sugar. Not sure what the goal is here, but I am sure it’s not being hit. Bottle from the brewery store.
3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 Boutip (3979) - Gatineau, Quebec, CANADA - MAR 21, 2012
Bottle: Poured a medium amber color bock with a medium size foamy head with OK retention and not much lacing. Aroma of sweet malt with caramel notes. Taste is not overly complex with some caramelized malt notes with light touch of toffee. Body is a bit light for style with good carbonation. Not bad but lacking taste or complexity.
