Blasphemies (45), Ontario, Canada Jun 16, 2008 draught: cloudy copper colour. Flower and hops aroma and tastes the same, nice hops for sure.
Oakes (6979), Miami Beach, Florida, USA Sep 20, 2008 Golden-red colour. Very woody hop nose with some caramel. Dry, woody IPA with lots of centennial and cascade. Solid caramel backbone. Dry, slightly herbal, woody finish. Beershine (1440), Miami Beach, Florida, USA Sep 18, 2008 at brewpub. Red, clear, off-white head. Unexpected berries in nose. Not tasting totally fresh. Is more floral than hoppy in the aroma. Soft mouthfeel. Some hop is there in the aftertaste. It’s balanced and fruity but disappointing. hopson (499), Williamsville, New York, USA Jul 21, 2008 pint- also had the cask example at the brewery but this review will comment only upon the draft version. Rose petals/perfume like aroma that is faint and fleeting. first sip reveals a lot of sweetness, and semi-citrusy hops with little in the way of hop bitterness. Im not sure if the beer is underattenuated, or just sweet. It’s a decent and drinkable brew, but not a very good representative of the style. Sledge Jr (2720), Omaha, Nebraska, USA Jun 22, 2008 On tap at the brewpub. I had both the cask version and the regular version. Regular: Light amber with a white head. Not as good as the tankhouse beer. The hops are a bit more lonesome here in that they stand out unbalanced without complement. Has a fairly quick finish. An OK beer, but not great (score: 2.9).
Cask:Pours hazy light brown to dark amber with a big bubbled white head. Has an intense chocolate and butterscotch aroma. Smooth. Very smooth. The tongue is saturated with lemon-lime flavors. Lots of tea flavors to this as well. Has a very drying finish. On cask, this beer is completely transformed. I simply would not recognize the cask vs. keg versions of this beer as being the same.
