New England Bucket List Trip #141. Keg at the brewpub, Ottawa location. Pours a slightly hazy pale golden with a thin creamy white head. Good head retention. Aroma of grassy hops and pale grainy malt. The taste is grainy, doughy malt, mild floral hops. Medium bodied, refreshing.

Poured from bottle. A refreshing lager, but not really that special. Was expecting a bit more from it, maybe it is just the lager style.

As a lager fan I was disappointed by this beer’s flavour. However perhaps that’s due to it’s organic composition.

12oz bottle into an English pint. Pours a very light straw colour with pillowy, quickly-dissipating head. Nose is rather unpleasant: sour apple, and I’ll echo someone’s earlier damp cardboard note, but more likely bready yeast. Taste is a bit better; still green apple, but also a bit of malty sweetness mixed in. Light and crisp. That initial scent is off-putting, though.

Bottle to Sam Adams Boston Lager glass, the beer pours a transparent piss yellow with barely any head. Aroma is really odd...sour funk, sulfur, citrus...smells more like cider than beer. Taste is watery and has the off sour bit backed by grassy hops and barely anything for malt. The beer is obviously palatable...with medium carb and thin body joined by watery flavours anyone could drink this and like it. However, to me, this is a shitty beer. Literally flavourless.

Easy drinking, but very middle of the road. I’d have it again but there is nothing special here.

Yellow, clear, not too carbonated. Light, mild, an easy drink. Not much head, not heavy on flavour .

341ml bottle from The Only Cafe. Pours a transparent straw gold with a minimal, quickly disapating frothy head. Aromas of malty sweetness and some green apple, wet cardboard. Taste is very empty with the same characteristics of the nose: green apple, wet cardboard. Unpleasent on the finish as the malty sweetness diminishes quickly and left with predominantly wet cardboard. Nice level of carbonation for the style. Excessively clean and bland.

Yuck. Looks like pee. Doesn’t smell or taste much better. I would purchase any other lager over this.

UPDATED: NOV 1, 2014 Light straw colour. Minimal carbonation. Aromas are of bready yeast, a hint of lime and some unfortunate wet cardboard. Tastes are of green apple, and a fair amount more of wet cardboard. Overall, this came part and parcel with a mix pack that contained some other beers of theirs that I wanted to try. Would never buy this separately.
