On tap at the brewpub. Pours a clear amber colour with a beige head and minimal lacing. Smokey malt aromas. Flavours of smokey malts with some light sweetness, wood and cereal grain that lingers. Not a bad grainy smoked beer. Good intro to the Rauchbier style.

2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 6/20
The smoky flavour of this beer is first noticeable in it’s scent. It has a very crispy, baconesk flavour, however not the best rauchbeir I have tried

Great seasonal beer. Can be found on tap at select locations or the Mill St Brewpub. You cannot buy in bottles, but you can get the 1.89L growlers from the Mill St Brewery store (which works out better in some cases!).

2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20
Growler. Amber- brown pour. The aroma is a bit salty and kind of odd. Moderate smoke but also some faint sulphur and odd astringency. A little bit of toasted malt and a very flinty but insistent bitterness. Meh - an odd sort of celery salt character as well. Oddly fruity as it warms up. This ain’t no rauch.
