Commercial Description:
Formerly known as Sparkling Ale (6/05)
Made with imported malt and hops, this pale-coloured ale pays homage to brewing techniques of the late 1800's, when technology and glassware allowed the production of golden beer with a distinct sparkle.

Draught @ brewpub. Medium golden, clear with 1/2 inch white head. Slightly skanky aroma is sweet with diacetyl. Soft carbonation. Awefully bad. Sweet and nasty, "bordering on horrific" like sour milk. "I’d be doing myself a disservice to drink more."

On tap at the brewpub. Light gold color with almost no head. Faint citrus hop aroma; light and fruity. Amazingly fruity, with cherry and muscat. Sweet, thin, and light. Too fruity. Almost like a soda pop. Not very impressive.

341 mL bottle. Golden pour, with small head that doesn’t stick around, lacing remains. Hoppy scent, a little spicy too actually. I was a little surprised by the hops in this, pretty good amount, with a little malt touch. Average mouthfeel and finish. This is what mainstream brewers SHOULD be making.

Crystal clear yellow gold pour. Nice foamy thick head. Nice lacing. Slightly hoppy scent with a touch of spice. A thicker then expected mouth, slightly sweet at first with a malty finish. A good Mix. This has become on of my favourite session beers.

I tried this beer on July 11, 2008 at “Smokeless Joe’s” in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. The beer poured a medium gold in colour, translucent, with a thin white head. The aroma was malty, with some milky tones backing it up. The mouthfeel was medium bodied, slightly creamy, and medium carbonated. The flavour was malt, milk/cream, and biscuity tastes.
