COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Formerly known as Sparkling Ale (6/05)
A golden export-style ale made from only malt and hops, no fillers or adjuncts. A brillant golden colour gives a “sparkling” appearance as the gas escapes from the glass. The natural sweetness of the malt is perfectly balanced by the bitterness derived from the hops. This beer represents the way blonde ales were made 100 years ago.

Bottled. Sweet floral aroma. Golden hue with very little head. Nicely balanced hops and malts, medium bodied with grassy notes. Not bad.

Don’t pour this one. Pull it out of an ice chest. Sweet start; crisp finish. The soda pop of ales.

Tap at Calgary International Beer Fest, and my 100th Golden Ale/Blonde Ale rating. Pours clear gold with a medium, fizzy white head, short retention with light lacing. Aroma is biscuit and meal malt, light earthy hops and clean. Flavor is malt, faint hops and bitterness, clean with a dry finish. Light body and medium carbonation.

I don’t know... overall a pretty well balanced beer. I wouldn’t mind drinking a few of these on a hot day in summer. Nice carbonation that keeps a "buzz" on you tongue.

Boy, nothing is more unappealing to a rater than a clear bottle of light colored beer. Pours a very clean, light yellow (think Coors) with a small dense white head. Aroma has a light/mild amount of grainy presence with just a touch of some Noble hops (tettnang?). Flavor has a good grainy presence, light noble grassy hops presence. Body is extremely light with a good sharp carbonation kick at the end. Overall, for a light brew this is very nice. The grainy presence isn’t overdone and is what a light, clean beer should look, smell and taste like, unlike a lot of American macros that taste a bit cheap. Pleasurably light brew. For the style, a very good example of what it should and can be.

Bouteille de 341ml, robe blonde claire, arôme très naturel de grains et de houblons, même chose dans le goût.

Clear yellow pour with big fluffy white head. Almost no aroma to speak of... very faint hints of sweet malts and fresh grass. Taste is very light, with notes of mildly roasted malts, herbal grassiness and very faint hop bitterness; more astringent than floral. High carbonation and decent mouthfeel, but otherwise a yawner. Nothing standout here...

Pours a almost clear, with nice carbonation. Aroma is a dry malt. And taste is same not much going on.

Bottle. Clear and gold with small ring. Medium carbonation. Slightly skunky, grassy aroma. Taste is slightly sweet, mild. Utterly forgettable.
