Jun 2, 2003 Orange-tinged dark amber; aroma shows rich fruity hoppiness (cherry, plum), plus woody notes, and lightly smokey crystal malts. Nicely balanced beer...grapefruit, wood, chewy earthiness. The crystal almost gets out of hand, but not quite. Fresh-tasting, with a lingering bitterness. Not as bombastic as Alpha King, nor as straightforward as SNPA, this is a fairly unique rendition of the style.
