COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Like traditional pale ales, Tankhouse Ale has a deep copper-red colour. We use five different malts to produce a complex malty texture. The most dominant character of our Pale Ale is the hop. The spicy Cascades is used to give an assertive hop flavour, aroma and bitterness to our ale. The result is a satisfying and complex-tasting beer. Our brewmaster developed this recipe 20 years ago and it has remained his favorite drink of choice

I tried this beer on May 13, 2008 at the "Elephant and Castle" in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. The beer was poured a translucent reddish-brown colour with a half-inch creamy tan coloured head. The aroma was a combination or raosted malt, and hops. The mouthfeel was medium bodied, with mild carbonation. The flavour was all about the hops. A nice bitter citrusy tang and a very good beer.

Yummy! Great aroma, great taste, coffee finish. Almost perfumed. Love this beer though it’s rather difficult to find at most bars. My Fave.

To say this beer is flavorful is a gross understatement! This brew is full of flavors and I thoroughly enjoyed it. The spices come on really strong at first along with the hops, and maple. The strong front can be deceiving at first, but this beer really grows on you as you drink it. It has a semi-light amber color; it looks like maple syrup. I see myself buying a 6 pack of this brew every now and again for a treat. A very decent beer.

Very nice deep red, moderate lasting head. As always, a wonderful aroma of Cascade hop. Perfect amount of citrus and floral smell. Taste is just the right combination of bitter, but not stupidly so, and good malty sweetness. Palate is a nice dryish bitter, but perhaps could be a bit more solid overall. Still, as I tell everyone who asks me, this is the beer that everyone should be drinking, all the time, everywhere.

Solid favourite from Mill Street. Can be a bit bitter for some, but hardly overwhelming. Nice spice to it. A winner from Toronto.

UPDATED: DEC 5, 2006 Auburn with a bit of head, most of which disappeared. Aroma and taste are both quite complex. The taste is complex, spicy, bitter...perfect. Wonderfully smooth, bitter finish. The world’s finest ale.

dark amber in color; minimal head and aroma. strong initial caramel taste that trails off into fairly predominant hops and an almost dark chocolate finish. This was definitely a tasty surprise.

Bottle. Pours a darker reddish amber with a moderate pearl head; moderate carbonation. Aroma of hops; notes of grass and herbs. Taste is slightly bitter with citrus notes; warms to a slightly sweet maltiness, notes of bread. Finishes with a glassy hop bitterness with malt undertones. Medium-bodied. Very tasty; a great session beer.

My stand-by session beer. This is a great tasting pale ale. Fairly hoppy for a main-stream beer, with a good level of malty goodness to balance it out. For a widely available, commercially friendly, mainstream beer... you can’t expect much more. About as flavourful as a light beer can be. Solid.
