sinkhole (117), Ottawa, Ontario, Canada Mar 23, 2007 Updated: Mar 27, 2007 Pours copper red. Strong aromas of hops and spices with more subtle hints of yeast/rice. Sweet hop flavours overpowered by spice mixture IMO. Long lasting bitter flavours.
Beerman6686 (567), Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA Jul 26, 2008 Poured a clear orange color with a big off white head. Aroma was very malty for an APA, almost like a bitter. Flavor was much the same, not quite sure how this is an APA. Not a bad beer, just too malty to be an APA. speedywinger (21), Ottawa, Ontario, Canada Jul 11, 2008 Off white head on orange tinted amber body. Aroma is malts, caramel, grains and some fruity hops. Flavor is sweet caramel malts with a hoppy, dry, slightly soapy finish. Nice beer...one of the best at The Beer Store in Ontario. Linus_Stick (1482), Moon Township, Pennsylvania, USA Jul 4, 2008 Via trade with matt7215. Thanks! A pretty standard APA. Aroma was all caramel malt. Pour was a decent dark amber with a one finger off white head. Taste was nice and malty in the front with a grassy hops aftertaste in the back that is very light and not bitter at all. This is a good beer, just not breaking any new ground. azlondon (463), Greater London, England Jul 1, 2008 Appearance: Red copper. Nice amount of head.
Aroma: Caramel, citrus/fruit. Some malt and hops.
Taste: Quite hoppy, some malt. Bitter aftertaste.
Info: 341ml bottle, 29/10-2007 Sledge Jr (2702), Omaha, Nebraska, USA Jun 22, 2008 On tap at the brewpub. This is their flagship beer I am told. Pours dark copper with a medium off-white head. Has a nice mild pine tree aroma. Big hoppy grapefruit and cedar shake flavors with lots of roastedness on the tongue. This is a seriously solid brewpub pale ale. Not excessive, but solid in all its profiles.
