cyrenaica (252), Milton, Ontario, Canada May 13, 2008 20oz draught
5.2% ABV
I tried this beer on May 13, 2008 at the "Elephant and Castle" in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. The beer was poured a translucent reddish-brown colour with a half-inch creamy tan coloured head. The aroma was a combination or raosted malt, and hops. The mouthfeel was medium bodied, with mild carbonation. The flavour was all about the hops. A nice bitter citrusy tang and a very good beer.
Linus_Stick (1459), Moon Township, Pennsylvania, USA Jul 4, 2008 Via trade with matt7215. Thanks! A pretty standard APA. Aroma was all caramel malt. Pour was a decent dark amber with a one finger off white head. Taste was nice and malty in the front with a grassy hops aftertaste in the back that is very light and not bitter at all. This is a good beer, just not breaking any new ground. azlondon (457), Greater London, England Jul 1, 2008 Appearance: Red copper. Nice amount of head.
Aroma: Caramel, citrus/fruit. Some malt and hops.
Taste: Quite hoppy, some malt. Bitter aftertaste.
Info: 341ml bottle, 29/10-2007 Sledge Jr (2692), Omaha, Nebraska, USA Jun 22, 2008 On tap at the brewpub. This is their flagship beer I am told. Pours dark copper with a medium off-white head. Has a nice mild pine tree aroma. Big hoppy grapefruit and cedar shake flavors with lots of roastedness on the tongue. This is a seriously solid brewpub pale ale. Not excessive, but solid in all its profiles. andyp (4), Canada does not count Jun 20, 2008 A solid choice from an Ontario craft brewery. Not overly malty in flavour, but enough body to hold up to the hops. A bit of spiciness from the hops, not an American flavour. Colour is a bit darker than you might expect from tasting it; it’s not heavy. A nice pint with hop flavour, something that can be hard to find in Ontario. hip_hop (61), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Jun 15, 2008 This has been my favourite choice at the LCBO for at least a year now. It’s spicy, hoppy, exciting, and soothing.
