daknole (644), Plantation, Florida, USA May 13, 2008 This is a really good beer and underrated in my opinion. Pours a nice amber color with a small head. The aromas of malt, hops and maybe even a hint of whiskey. fFlavor is creamy and malty with a nice hop balance. Very drinkable and super smooth. Reminds me of a Sam Adams Boston Lager, but a bit smoother and less harsh.
Geth_in_beer (663), Nova Scotia, Canada Aug 17, 2008 Sampler. Copper appearance with a great white head. Malt, hops and nuts. Very tasty ale. LadySusan (360), Ste-Therese, Quebec, Canada Aug 13, 2008 341ml. bottle bought at the L.C.B.O. in Ottawa. The color is copper with a thin beige head. The taste and aroma is of malt. Also in the taste are some fruits and hops that give it a bitter finish. mullet2007 (115), Newfoundland, Canada Aug 12, 2008 Pours a ruby red colour with a light brown head, that actually lasts for a little while. Aroma is pretty much citrusy hops. Flavour is sort of bitter and a little bit stale sort of. It’s fairly malty in the mouth, and finishes up a bit citrusy. There’s some spicyness in it, but not an excessive amount. It’s sort of nice at first, fairly hoppy, and sweet malts backing that up, but then it sort of finishes like old cardboard. Mouthfeel is slightly thick, but not creamy by any means. Carbonation is a bit high for the style I think. AWS9 (123), Mississauga, Ontario, Canada Aug 12, 2008 341 mL bottle. Deep copper colour, though no head to speak of. Spicy malt aroma, with a hint of nut. Malts and nuts dominate the taste, with a hint of hops, caramel, and spice. Pretty good, though a little disappointing in the finish. Skidds (172), Ottawa, Ontario, Canada Aug 7, 2008 A friend of mine bought this last week and gave me one. He insisted I try it. I was pleased with what I tasted. Has a nice malty and nutty aroma. Flavour was hoppy with some coffee notes. Very, very good.
