KyotoLefty (202), Kyoto, Japan Aug 27, 2008 Rich, sweet, complex malts, with caramel, dark fruits, and port wine. Bready and biscuity. Not overly sweet; well balanced. Decent dry finish. Very nicely done. The_Jester (500), Peterborough, Ontario, Canada Mar 12, 2008 On tap at the brew pub. Dark ruby brown with a small beige head. The aroma is quite malty, with some black cherry and a little bit of (slightly burnt) caramel sweetness. The flavour is caramel sweet and malty, with enough roasted malt and hops to keep things from becoming lopsided. Alcohol is well hidden. I don’t think these guys could make a bad beer if they tried. GregClow (2350), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Mar 11, 2008 Draught sample at Pepperwood Beer Festival. Dark ruby-amber colour. Aroma is quite malty and sweet, with dark fruit, a slight toasty/burnt edge, and a hint of hops. Medium bodied. Big caramel flavour, a bit of coffee, well hopped finish with a hint of booze. Big, flavourful, warm - good! Radek Kliber (3332), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Mar 11, 2008 On tap at brewpub

yarry (352), Waterdown, Ontario, Canada Mar 9, 2008 Pint at the brewery after a tour. A very dark beer with a pleasently lacy tan head. The beer smells of dark caramel sugar and dark fruits such as plums, and dark cherry. It tastes of the same dark fruits with a burnt caramel aftertaste and a full mouthfeel.
