TheBeerGod (3143), Newport News, Virginia, USA Apr 13, 2008 From the good folks at Bon Vivant who bet me I hadn’t had this before. They were right! Pour a clear straw yellow. Small fizzy white head. Nose is salt and lime. Taste is just like those Tostitos with a hint of lime. Basically that plus a Miller Lite mixed is the best description. Not terribly offensive, taste-wise. Body is very light and fizzy. Ends with more lime and salt dominating the Miller Lite. Would go well with corn chips and salsa or Mexican food. Maybe even at the beach or after mowing the lawn. ofey (29), Doncaster, Australia Apr 13, 2008 Sweet taste but really this sux. Light beer with that lime flavor that really makes me sick. Corn is another overwhelming flavour which shouldn’t really be in a beer. alexsdad06 (1056), Ohio, USA Apr 11, 2008 12 oz. bottle. Pours a clear pale yellow color with a large white head. The aroma is funky sweet lime and corn. The flavor is a heavy dose of lime with a corn malt foundation. This was purchased for me a s a joke so I figured I would rate it. bbp182 (255), Levittown, Pennsylvania, USA Apr 11, 2008 This has no smell, huge head, horrible lacing. Piss color like miller lite. The taste is sweet. Its a hint of lime. Better then miller lite...but still sucks. kidmartinek (972), austin, Texas, USA Apr 10, 2008 What the hell is cheleda anyway? Food in your beer? Are we in Mexico or the united states? Obviously, I am not in the target demographic (Fat, proud, messican chick) for this product. Color is light neon green, like ghostbuster’s slime. No SAB, this is not appealing. Smells like weak limeaide and poor american pale lager mixed together. Tastes like salted watery pale american lager with watered down limeaide ledtover from sonic. Finishes like water beer. Might be better than Miller Lite since the lime does taste better than the corn they use to make Miller Lite with. AlcoholChair (10), Godfrey, Illinois, USA Apr 10, 2008 Well what can you say? It’s a beer that tastes like lime. Not a beer taste at all but a fruity limey drink for chicks. I’ll admit I had one. Not what I’m looking for out of a beer. jeremyd365 (109), Ann Arbor, Michigan, USA Apr 8, 2008 I was given a bottle of this and told it was just like Corona. Ouch, what an insult to Corona!
The appearance and smell was that of generally most American macro lagers--pale yellow and sour smelling. There was supposed to be a hint of lime but I couldn’t tell in the smell.
The taste was more of the same: sour sour sour. I could hard swallow it.
It was sour and bitter and I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone. If you want a Mexican-style beer, get a Mexican beer! Gypsy19 (604), California, USA Apr 7, 2008 The last time I had something with the word "Chelada" on the bottle, I almost fuckin’ puked. And I’m no primadonna when it comes to sampling disgusting fuckin’ brews. So I was pleasantly surprised to find that this is a harmless combination of cheap American Lager with hints of salt and lime; Also known as Tequiza circa 1998. In other words it’s exactly what it claims to be. Not that that makes it great necessarily, just marginally better than anticipated since I was fearing the worst after discovering that word Chelada after getting home and there being no turning back...
