2.2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20
16 oz. tallboy, $1.49 at Caseyís, Ankeny IA. Slightly different, I;ll give it that. Pours a big fluffy head that leaves a slight bit of lace at the edges. Smell is that kind of sugary fusel ferment from those Lithuanian sugar-fermented malt likkers. Taste does at least introduce a thread of whiskey, but clearly, itís a hint of whiskey blended in, instead of, say putting the beer in a whiskey barrel. At 6.9% abv, it should not as strong as a malt liquor, but I can feel that unpleasant sensation of a beer with too much heat. For all the craft brewers the big meganationals have bought out, they still wonít put their names on a really decent brew.

2.3 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Hmmm, an odd product from Miller courtesy of the local gas station. Pours from the can a burnt copper not-quite-gold color, some head and lacing, actually looks alright. Smell is very odd- borderline offensive- a licorice alcoholic caramel aroma, both candy-like and malty. Strange. Taste is faint at first but builds with each gulp, a sweet caramel maltiness, some alcoholic residue in the background. Not terrible (which is my default expectation of Miller products) but I would probably not drink this again. At least tastes like a real beer and not corn water like Miller lite or High Life. Reminds me of Budweiser's Black Crown amber lager, this seems to be Miller's attempt to compete with that label, while jacking up the alcohol content to malt liquor levels. While both are still similar macro amber lagers, I would recommend Black Crown over this.

Pours deep gold into a shaker. White head with good retention recedes leaving trailing sheets. Caramel aromas. Soft sour hot caramel and bread. Medium length sweet finish.

2.2 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 1/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 10/20
Bought the promotional 16oz black can for .99 at the local Stripes. Pours a descent coppery coloured hue in the glass with some head which is still there as I am typing. There is no aroma to speak of other then the typical adjuncts one tends to associate with a typical Macro beer, corn, alcohol, carbonation, tin,oh by the way, the head has dissipated. Just like had imagined, the flavour is not too bad, e.g. 211, high gravity, but more tamer a flavour with a pretty good dose of alcohol in the finish. Other then that it tastes like a Miller Light with a shot of vodka. If you want a beer that is drinkable and high in alcohol and is cheap this is prob one way to go....CHEERS....

2.3 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20
12oz black glass bottle pours with a copper body that has gold hues and supports a weak head of small bubbles. The aroma offers up apples, pears and a dash of corn mixed with slim chemical booze and floral hops. The taste starts sweet but not slick with apple-y and pear like sweet fruity esters mainly and at times it seems the above average carbonation somehow breaks up the sugary sweetness and the fruity esters. To midway I get a slight sense of malts and faint vague hoppiness that seem to feebly bubble to the surface. This isnít too hateful but fits nicely into the style.

2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20
12oz bottle. Poured a fizzy yellow-orange color with a huge foamy white head - just looks like a macro factory beer. Smells slightly astringent, perhaps a bit light corn, with some very pale malt notes. Flavor was corn. As another rater said, Iíd rather just drink MGD.

1.4 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 4/20
What can I say, itís really just a higher octane Miller. The aroma was corn, rice and straw but still relatively faint. To be fair, I drank this out of the bottle but suspected it had the same golden pee look to it. Palate was light and fizzy. The beer was more filling that a standard lite beer. Flavor was MGD with higher alcohol and left me kind of bloated. Sweet malt hints with very little hops presence. I did feel more sophisticated though.

4th of July bottle at Sarahís parents. For a malt liquor, pretty tasty. Nice darker brown pour. Good malt flavor that almost, almost overpowers the adjunct flavors. Fine.
