| 1.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 2/10 | 2/5 | 3/10 | 2/5 | 6/20 | Dec 14, 2009 Pours pale yellow with a quickly fading head.
Aroma shows faint malt, cooked vegetables, cardboard and something like decomposing leaves.
Sweet corn and rice flavours dominate, with almost no bitterness whatsoever.
Carbonation is huge, and of course, the body is extremely watery. badlizard (2409), Berkeley, California, USA
| 2.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 2/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 10/20 | Dec 8, 2009 Yellow with a fizzy white head. Sweet malty aroma and taste without anything else going on. It’s probably on the better end of bad macro lagers, but it doesn’t even begin to compare to the average micro brew. cstorm (3), Delaware, USA does not count | 4.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 19/20 | Dec 6, 2009 I am rating MGD for what it is: a macro American lager. Don’t try to impose unrealisitic standards on beer of this kind. It is brewed for easy drinkability and consistency. MGD is a winner in those areas. Very mild aroma, slight malt and corn. Faint hop presence. Taste is smooth and very easy to drink. Less corny than Miller High Life. Interesting because MHL and MGD are made from the same recipe. MGD is cold filtered, where HIgh Life is heat pasteurized. Perhaps that can account for the difference.
Great macro brew, not piss as some would say. Just appreciate MGD for what it is and enjoy. I know I did! Niko100 (168), New York, USA
| 1.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 2/5 | 3/10 | 2/5 | 8/20 | Dec 2, 2009 Light straw color; Light to medium body; Aroma and flavor of grain, light malt, and some hops; Fairly bland and watery as to be expected from a macro lager; Overall, in the same category as a Bud for me. 0o9i (338), Reno, Nevada, USA
| 1.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 3/5 | 2/10 | 1/5 | 5/20 | Nov 25, 2009 12oz can served ice cold in a pint glass. Pours crystal clear, pale yellow, topped with a small white head that is starting to dissipate quickly (became a partial ring). Surprisingly nice lacing at first, but then it stopped. Clean aroma of lager yeast and hops, hint of caramel//apple something, and some almost metallic skunky smell that isn’t on the good list. The body is really light and heavily carbonated, foamy, almost hard to swallow because it foams up so bad. Flavor is almost nonexistent. There’s a touch of noble hops, a touch of corn, some grainy sweetness. In it’s defense, while it doesn’t taste like much of anything, at least what flavor is there isn’t bad. It’s pale clarity is unnerving. Over carbonated; otherwise a good session beer, less the fact that you can drink a 6-pack an hour without trying. Gravelle (100), Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada
| 1.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 2/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 4/20 | Nov 22, 2009 Light corn malt aroma. Medium yellow color with minimal head. Sweet barley malt flavor. Why is this soo much. Good for when hitting the greens. Maybe not.... BMan1113VR (2977), Los Angeles (and Dallas), Texas, USA
| 1.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 2/5 | 3/10 | 2/5 | 5/20 | Nov 19, 2009 Surprised that I have yet to rate this. Can at my Dad’s, poured into a pilsner glass. Aggressive pour yields some foamy head, clear very pale yellow beneath. Corn, grassy, thin aroma. Papery and astringent. Sweet, watery, bready and papery taste. No bitterness, no flavor. Watery.
