Ughsmash (2835), Waukesha, Wisconsin, USA May 28, 2008 Thanks to Bob for the bottle! Poured clear, bright, lighter orangey-golden with a short cap of fizzy off-white head. The aroma had some caramel and lighter fruits paired with pale malts, but the artificial sweeteners ran rampant.. not good, but non-offensive. The flavor had basically the same maltage with the same un-naturally sweet quality.. dry, grassy bitterness on the edges.. short, tacky, sweet finish. Light-bodied on the palate with substantial fizzy, sharp carbonation.. dry on the back and this fell off the finish very quickly. Snojerk321 (907), San Diego, California, USA May 20, 2008 12oz bottle from BevMo! Mission Valley. I can’t believe Miller attempted at a beer like this........funny..........lame. thejoeshow (73), Saint Paul, Minnesota, USA May 12, 2008 Nice blonde color with a slight white head that dissipates rather fast. Nose is slight, slight malt hidden by cooked corn. Maltier flavor than any light beer I’ve tried, witha tinge toward caramel flavor. Dry finish, leaving a bit more to be desired. Overall, a very good alternative to regular Miller Lite. My "favorite" of the Lite Brewer’s Collection. JPDIPSO (4189), Wauwatosa, Wisconsin, USA Apr 13, 2008 Light golden color with a moderate white head. Only hint of scents in the aroma. Perhaps a little toasted malt. Light caramel flavors, with an emphasis on light. Dry soda water finish. A touch more flavor than the regular Miller Lite. So at the ballpark I might just have to go with this one. ElGaucho (1720), Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA Apr 8, 2008 Bottle from Cellars St. Paul-Larpenteur. Not much aroma to speak of; some fresh roasted malt. Clear dark gold, nearly amber. Darker in color than most "blondes" I’ve had. I was surprised when I read that this brew was intended to compete with Bass Ale, since it’s supposedly a blonde. Doesn’t really have that light hop that Bass has. This isn’t much different than the Lite Amber; perhaps a little less strong in the malt aspect. Probably better than regular miller lite, but this one begs for more flavor. From a flavor perspective, this brew has the least of the 3 brews in the ML Brewers Collection. The Wheat is the best. Now that I’ve tried them all I have a couple of conclusions: 1) All 3 are solid light beers and among the best light beers (soon to be) readily available, 2) It is really hard to inject flavor into beer while keeping the calorie count low and the ML Brewers Collection does little to dispel that truism, and 3)I’ll never get back the $4.77 I spent on one bottle of each although the fact that it was during the test market stage when few others had done so was somewhat worth it.
