omhper (10728), Stockholm, Sweden Apr 10, 2007 Bottled. Very pale yellow, airy head. Vague vegetable aroma. Sweetish and bland with sharp metallic mouthfeel. Despite the assaulting compost heap flavour it feels empty. Unpleasant saccharine finish. I’m so glad they decided to market this superior product in Sweden, so that I got the chance to taste it finally. Papsoe (10285), Frederiksberg, Denmark Apr 16, 2006 (On tap) Pale golden with a small, white head. Very thin and watery, no malt, no bitterness. No nothing. 280306 Oakes (6973), Miami Beach, Florida, USA Jul 5, 2003 First, let's put all of this "it's all about the numbers crap" by the wayside, shall we. This is an American classic, so what else would I drink on the 4th of July. Besides, it's the taste of a true pilsner. Apparently, Pilsner Urquell has it all wrong, which is funny because they're owned by the same company. D'oh! Pale yellow. Strange, I was expecting a rich bronze. After all, both Miller and Michael Jackson think that this is a pilsner. Aroma of cardboard, DMS and plastic. Since Jackson reckons this is a pilsner, and Miller says so themselves, I was kind of expecting a boatload of saaz or hallertau, punctuated by clean, refined continental pale malts. Undaunted though, because the world's top beer writer thinks this and its ilk are pilsners, I must be the one who's wrong. Now, I thought that maybe things would rectify themselves in the flavour and mouthfeel - you know, rich and hoppy, clean straw notes and a full rich body, leaving a lingering bitterness on the tongue. Yet strangely, this pilsner is completely different - vague DMS and pretty much nothing else. You know, when something is totally different than something else, it is kind of idiotic to suggest that they are the same. Anyone who wants to call beers like this pilsner is being terminally assinine. Thank you. And yes, it's all about the numbers. oh6gdx (6332), Vaasa, Finland Oct 3, 2007 Bottled (thanks omhper!). Yellowish golden colour, mediumsized white head. Aroma is sweet hops, some malts and maize. Flavour is quite much the same. Clean and very flavourless. argo0 (6229), Washington DC, USA Apr 25, 2002 Yes, I confess -- I have actually consumed Miller Lite. It was free, and I was young, but those are no excuses. Sweet, corny-malty carbonated water. If that’s what you like, by all means enjoy.
