jerc (3217), Toronto, Ontario, Canada May 9, 2008 2008-05-08. Hazy golden yellow body with a big foamy white head. Aroma is muddled but pleasant, lemon-sour, musty notes, hint at coriander or lemon grass. Strange, pleasant, bit of a head scratcher. (7+) Zippy flavour, lemon, light tart-sour notes, hints of grass or dandelion? Hints of spice? Strange bland is quite interesting, pleasant, but I can’t say it is something I would return to often. (7+) Average plus palate. (3+) Bottle from Delices.., Brussels
bierkoning (4935), La Tropica, Netherlands Sep 17, 2008 Bottle @ home. Orange blonde color, hazy. Flowery, citric hops and tangerine in the aroma. Firm hopbitter flavor with mandarine curacao, grass, cardemom and coreander. Slightly perfumed and spicy. Tangerine and some flowery bitterness in the aftertaste. mabel (1673), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Aug 5, 2008 [1331-20080508] 330mL bottle. Musty fruity lemon pip aroma. Hazy, light orange brown body with big long-lasting foamy off-white bubbles. Soured sweet fruit flavour is like sweetened hoppy lemon slices or lemondrops. Medium body is initially sour. Really interesting drink experience, "definitely a head-scratcher."

Original Belgian ale with fresh lemon pie flavours.
I like:
Fresh all throughout. Appealing citrusy character. Limited sweetness. Flowery, rosewater/perfumey notions are all intriguing. Fitting citric acidity.
I dislike:
A bit thick and slick in terms of body, especially for the flavours it carries. That could have been very drinkable.
