2.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 7/20
330 ml bottle in Germany. Dark brown amber color with a huge, tanned and extremely lacy head. Very strongly malty, grainy, sweetish and herbal aroma. Aroma is very well done. Taste is rye, caramel and malts, sour flavor with some Xmas spiciness and ashy-licoricey hints. Sourish, and a bit sticky palate. A bit too harsh for my Bavarian palate.

3.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Beers of Advent Day 9. Odd colour for a brunette- more a coppery bronze with a low, dense off white foam. Ripe, fruity aroma with tangerine jelly and piney hop, bananas, honey and vanilla. Flavour almost as good, alternating between honeyed orange, cinnamon/clove-dusted strawberry, a finishing hit of whiskey and oak. Ends up a touch harsh and spiritous, but I like it.. Pretty annoyed I shared some with the carpet. Good festive brew.

Bottled 330ml (Tuulensuu, BB 05/2010)
Murky brown, small steady brown head. Caramelly, chocolaty, yeasty aroma, perhaps a bit sour. Medium-bodied. Caramelly, grassy hoppyness, some clove spiceyness. Quite pleasant.

2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Brown coloured beer, a medium, good sized head, holds ok, and sticks nice to the glass. Smell is some roasted malts, some hops, and spices. A bit earthy. Taste is also a bit earhty, dry-bitter finish, something roasted. Spices. Drinkeable, but not really my thing.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle 33 cl. Courtesy of fonefan. Pours an almost clear amber with a creamy off-white head leaving broad curtains of lacework. Roasted malts in the nose, perhaps some brown sugar. Medium body, sweet caramel, some ashes and perhaps even a wee whiff of smoke. Dry and lightly bitter finish. Rather unusual for a Belgian, but pleasant indeed. 080410

Shared this one w/ SkyCop32. Pours a nice dark reddish amber color. Aromas of fruit, and some other hints, maybe some spices, maybe caramel. Flavor is a bittersweet, malty, and a hint of hops with a nice bittersweet finish.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20

3.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle at Peiffeschof. Clear chestnut, small tan head, lots of lacing. Aroma of Christmas pudding. Taste has sweet caramel and a bitter edge with some dark spices, maybe nutmeg. Appearance gets extra points for the label.
