Bottle, 33cL. Home. A sparkling dark brown beer with medium beige off-white head ; medium retention. Roast, toast, toffee, chocolate, coffee. Light sweet, light dry bitter. Light to medium body, average texture, average carbonation, medium toasty finish. Overall, a pleasant belgian stout ; light, pretty well-balanced.

Expired in January 2014. At first dark then turned into a muddy brown. Long final of roasting. Rather light ABV.

As weird as it can be, the aroma can be assimilated to... sausage. But is you search further, it’s more like imperial stout, cut with water. The taste is close to the aroma, but we stand further from the Imperial stout and it doesn’t feel like cut with water. Well it seems that our bottle is 2y passed the date so, it may explain why it taste so "strange". Not bad, but I’ll stick to the Imperial stout beers.

330ml bottle at home as part of European Local Swap 2/2015 from RW80, many thanks. almost black color. small tan head. smells malty roasty, light smoke note, smells milky / creamy, light spices. nice smell. light to medium body, soft carbonation, slick mouthfeel. tastes malty roast, light smoke notes, some spices, notes of coffee, light ash notes, also some pine notes. finishes quite dry with roasted malt, light ash notes and light pine bitterness. body is almost watery at first but the bold (roast) flavors give the taste the necessary depth. overall nice drinkability, after a while an almost Black IPAish quality develops after the pine bitterness starts to come through. this is one of those beers that benefits from a larger tasting size.
