COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION

Bottle at home. Clear yellow with a white head, some lacings, yeast sediment in the bottom. Aroma heavy safran, light spicy. Flavor heavy spicy (safran), light sweet, medium bitter. Medium+ body, some alcohol. Strange.

33cl bottle. Hazy orangish colour with a small off-white head. Caramel, dates, honey and spices in the aroma. Average carbonation and medium body. Taste is sweet at start with a lot of spicy notes towards the finish. A bit hot aftertaste. Overall, drinkable but a bit over the top.

Hazy yellow. Strong smell of raw malts. Quite biscuity. Flavour is also strong with malts then comes quite a strong, sweet, aromatic and metallic saffron taste.

Nice looking bear, good foam. Arma of citrus, herbs, very nice in the nose. First gulp is still OK, but with a very strong spicy taste. Next few gulps the beer only gets worse, with the specific safrane herb tasting too sharp. After 10 gulps I gave up, because I didn’t like it at all - as good as undrinkable for me. The only reason this beer still gets a score of 2,2 is because of the appearance and the aroma, the taste ruins it all.

Bottle, 33cL. Home. A brown orange opaque beer ; many yeast sediments ; medium white head ; medium retention. Fruity aroma (quince), spices (I guess this is saffron!), biscuit, resin, floral. Medium sweet, medium dry bitter, warming powerful "background". Good body, medium texture, average carbonation, sweet warming finish and dry.

Schiuma fine compatta e persistente. Buon corpo.

Saffron-flavored specialty beer since 2011, with yellowish white, delicate, creamy head and cloudy yellow colour. Lots of saffron in the nose, pineapple, jute, green apples, mango. Exotic fruits in the mouth, sharp Asian spiciness becoming milder towards the finish, light sourishness, drying, bit powdery mouthfeel, saffron very clearly pleasant and either you like that, or you don’t. I did and I bet this goes well with Indian or creole food.
