(Bottled, BBE 10/2017) Hazy amber with a small head. Grainy malt with cardboard and talc powder in the nose. Flavor is dryish, grainy-caramely with berries and warming alcoholic notes, some yeastiness, plus a moderately bitter finish. Medium+ body, lowish CO2. Like a not-so-clean, more hoppy version of De Koninck. 3435

Millevertus La Zanzi appears to be a deriviate of the Mère Vertus. I drank it at the Ghent Beer Festival in 2014, from the bottle in a 15cl glass. It surely is a strange, fruity beer. This specialty grain beer has a very floral aroma, and the mouth and aftertaste are bitter. Yet it has some sticky notes in the palate, which I don’t really appreciate. Not bad, but definitely not exciting.

Bottle 330 ml Appearance: Clear golden orange with a good sized thick white head. Head has a good retention. Head leaves light lacing. Aroma: peaches, sugar, apricot, floral and bergamot smelling hops, little bit of yeast. Taste: Sweet fruity tones, stone fruits and bergamot som yeast and floral hops in the finish. Hint of alcohol is present. Long lasting bitterness. Medium body, carbonation, dry on the palate. Suprising good one.

APPEARANCE strong orange clear robe with little bits floating around. Cream thick foam that stays 5’. AROMA have biscuits, bread, caramel, fruit, exotics, mango, bitter/resinous hops. TASTE is medium sweet medium bitter and little acidic. AROMA is strongly influenced by the high bitter and sweet taste. Much more IPA’ish than triple. (Reminds me of the I hardcore you IPA) PALATE : medium body (sugary) and bitter aftertaste withe the resinous feel is enjoyable. First of this brewery I enjoyed that much. Bottle from malting pot, in teku glass.

(Millevertus Zanzi) Bottle 330 ml at home, served into a small tulip, ABV 8% Golden orange colour on the body, clear although on the bottom of the bottle sits lots of sediment , good sized white head, thick too, with good retention. Light lacing left behind. Aroma of peaches, sugar, apricot, little yeast. Sweet taste, with malts, sugar, notable alcohol, stone fruits with lots of peach on the finish. Finishes with a nice and long bitterness. Medium body, carbonation on good levels, nicely dry on the palate. Very good, tasty and refreshing.
