UPDATED: DEC 9, 2011 Quite clear orange body with a rocky off-white head. Intruiging well balanced aroma of pepper, lemon, orange. Very well balnced warm flavour: moderately bitter, moderatelly sweet. Great!

Unique! It’s unclear blonde/amber with a nose of pepper and coriander, even if it turns out that there’s no coriander in the ingredients. The pepper (pepper as in white/black peppers, not chilis) makes it stand out from the crowd, giving it a pronounced taste yet not too spicy either so it remains very enjoyable. I’d love to try this again accompanied with the right meal. It’s got a strong taste though so whichever beer you choose next better be full-bodied...

L’Amarante is an exceptional beer with a unique aroma and taste because of the use of the pepper.
Look: moderate off white head. Hazy amber beer with very little carbonation.
Aroma: hops, spicy, very unique, sweet
Taste: spicy, sour touch, bitter finish, very complex

(Bottled) Opaque orange with a smallish, but firm and creamy head. Very nice aroma with pepper, garden herbs, pale honeyish malt, flowery-saisony notes. Flavor is smoothly pale-malty, spicy and orange-fruity, with a long, peppery-gingery-spicy finish. Medium to full body, soft CO2. A very nice, spicy and saisony ale, that reminds me of the excellent Fantôme brews. Very nice if you like pepper (like I do)! 4356

Light gold color with nice white head. Spicey, Indian food aroma. Tastes like a light triple with a pepper finish nicely unobtrusive for a pepper beer.

Small, dense, off-white head, leaving shards of lace over clear, deep-ochre beer. Superb nose of (black) pepper, but also bog myrtle, extremely powerfully perfumed, nearly soapy. Peppery (indeed!), like drinking the atmosphere of an alternative beautishop (imagine drinking the condensed air from a Bodyshop). Again bog myrtle, but more powerful - as in soap. Ginger retronasal. Very slick, sticky, but not heavy bodied. Very original beer. But i’d preferred more dry-peppery, instead of overpowering soapy.

Almost clear amber color, and a dense, off-white head, . Aroma pepper, fruits, bit sweet. Medium body.
Taste sweet, sticky, peppery, original,
bit dry end.
Not bad.
