Rastacouere (5196), Montréal, Quebec, Canada Jun 5, 2008 Objectively speaking:
A weird (more than original) honeyed, tart and smokey ale.
I like:
Original nose reminds of a smokey tea with its orangey, lemonade, earthy, leather, powdery, apple flavours. I could name many others, they’re all not very unified though you may say hat the uniting factor is the lean toastiness.
I dislike:
Heads in many different directions at once, but does not convince at any of them.
beerbuzzmontreal (2666), Montreal, Quebec, Canada Mar 31, 2008 ZBF 08. Pours a hazy amber color with a medium offwhite head. Average aroma and flavor of smoked malt. The body is light and the carbonation is moderate. Not bad, but fails to grab my attention. SHIG (1362), Oberoffligen, Germany Dec 17, 2007 Draught Kerstbierfestival 2007: Poured a copper color orange with a off white head. The aroma is smokey. The taste is gritty smoked wood and malt flavor. yespr (5406), Copenhagen O, Denmark Dec 17, 2007 From tap, Kerstbierfestival 2007 in Essen/Belgium. Pours golden orange, hazy, with a lacing white head. Heavy smoked and tar aroma. Flavour is mellow malty with a strong smoked flavour, not really providing meady notes. Ends with a slight fruity note breaking the smoke. oh6gdx (5000), Vaasa, Finland Oct 23, 2007 Bottled (thanks sayravai!). Hazy brown colour, mediumsized beige head. Lacing. Aroma is leather, caramel malts, some yeast and slight hints of roast. Flavour is burnt wet wood with some leathery hints. Also some caramel malts and earth in it. Really smoked wood in aftertaste.
