skortila (2359), Bunnik, Netherlands May 3, 2008 Bottled. Aroma has some smoked peated malts, yeast and some fresh fruity hoppiness. Cloudy, yellow-orange coloured with a lasting, off-white head. Taste is sweet, bit sour. It has some smoke, yeast and citrus in it. Okay. caesar (2453), Zeist, Netherlands May 2, 2008 Bottled. Bottle doesn’t say fumée, but it is clearly smoked. Cloudy orange brown color, short off-white head. Aroma of smoked malt, peat, some orange as well. Taste is strange, sticky sweet, slight sour. Not at all like the aroma. But i’m still confused whether this beer is or is not the fumée. SHIG (1382), Oberoffligen, Germany Mar 8, 2008 Bottle: Poured a murky brown with thin off white head. Aroma is full malt with some smoke. Taste is a smokey malt, very transparent to the aroma. The finish is dry with a tangy zip. I really like this beer and don’t get the critics. Mes_and_Sim (3967), London, Greater London, England Jan 27, 2008 A Mes rate: Bottle on the train on the way back to London thanks to Reakt. Murky amber brown with a decent, almost white head. Delicate aroma of slight smoky malt, some grassy hops and a bit of fruit and yeast. Spicy, earthy and peaty flavour with a slight sweetness and smoky note from the malt. Grassy finish that is quite dry and has a nice lingering earthy note. Better than I was expecting to be honest. Jerre (1282), Waregem, Belgium Jul 14, 2007 Bottle, 33 cl. Sample at KBW Vichte. Dark amber color, light haze, white head. Aroma: hops, spices, Medium body. Taste: strob bitterness, caramel malts. Long bitter aftertaste. Dry mouthfeel.
