3.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 SubstanceT (1092) - Saint Louis, USA - JUN 18, 2005
Wow, I was really impressed with this beer. Definately one of the better fruit beers out there that I have had. Pours cloudy hazy bronze with a nice sized long lasting white frothy head. The nose was thin and watery with just a bit of hops and, more subtley, apricots. The taste is very up front with lots of mellow apricots and this is what did it for me. This taste of apricots was very natural tasting to me... Imagine apricot beers like Melbourne Apricot (a good fruit beer) or even DogFish Head Apri Hop (another good fruit beer) and to me thier apricot flavor has been more like a concentrated flavor or some kind of un-natural extract. This was not the case my friend with this beer from Millrose. It was mellow and light and authentic. The hops were nicely laid out underneath with some malts here and there. Definately check this out if you are in the area!

draft at barrington brewfefst. they called this an apricot hefeweizen there. definitely not a hefe. and yeah, definitely a fruit beer. this beer was pure apricot. you can smell it from a mile away. i kinda liked it.

A thick hazed wheat color with golden highlights and a filmy, white head that left wet lace. Aromas were fairly weak & typical with apricot dominance, while the flavor found the apricot watery and not-quite-soapy... but "lotion-y". Like a bath product. I can’t describe it better than that. Overall not bad, but weakish and frilly.

Hazy gold color with no head. Aroma of moldy apricots. The taste is very much of old and stale wheat, as if the piles of wheat had been left in a drainage ditch for the summer.

Mostly clear orangish-gold with a little white head. Dried apricots start things off, followed by a hefty handful of yeast and some banana smoothie drippings for the aroma. Stale apricot flavor, dried banana chips and sour lemons help concoct a mixture that’s entirely out whack. Not the finest hour for Millrose, let alone fruit beers as a whole.
