2.2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20 JMerritt (1602) - Macomb, USA - JAN 11, 2008
Golden in color, clear with a medium light-white head. Corny, malty aroma. Corny flavor. A pale ale? Riiiight. I wanted to stand up and boo.
2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 hotstuff (3249) - Indiana, USA - OCT 28, 2009
Draft at Millrose Restaurant and Brewing Co. Off-white head with poor retention, transparent pale yellow body, very little carbonation, and very little lacing. The aroma was malty, grainy and next to no hops. Ditto for the flavor. Smooth mouthfeel and light bodied. This is an APA?? Where are the hops??
2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 JPDIPSO (4957) - Wauwatosa, Wisconsin, USA - JUN 14, 2008
Looks just like the Prairie Pils. Light straw color with a modest white head. Hints of grain and pale malt. Sweet grain, some light fruit and light herbal hops flavors. Very much like the pils, but brewed with an ale yeast.
2.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20 Walt (2448) - Austin, Texas, USA - MAY 15, 2008
Pour is clear yellow with a thin soapy looking white head...smell is grainy....taste is very cereal with some hints of sweetness...I have discovered their house character at last!
1.5 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 4/20 thedm (4126) - Fort Wayne, Indiana, USA - AUG 2, 2007
This draft brew from the brewery poured a medium sized head of foamy white colored bubbles that were mostly lasting and left behind a transparent softly carbonated straw yellow colored body and a fair lacing. The mild aroma was astringent and malt hop. The mouth feel was weakly tingly at the start mediumly tingly at the finish. The flavor contained notes of malt mild hops grassy and mild astringency. Not one that I would buy again.
1.3 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 5/20 michael-pollack (4884) - King of Prussia, Pennsylvania, USA - JUN 1, 2007
Draught: Faint aroma. Poured light gold in color with a small white head that lasted throughout. No lacing. Clear. Sparkling. Flavor of corn and some fruity hops. Light body. Thin, watery texture. Soft carbonation. Crap.
2.5 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 DrnkMcDermott (2450) - Downers Grove, Illinois, USA - MAY 10, 2007
Sampler at Millrose. Look, I was last here 13 years ago; it was maybe my second brewpub visit ever. And I don’t think the beers have changed at all: same old yuppie bland beers while other brewers are out leading the craft beer renaissance. This one is a cloudy, pale blond ale more than a pale ale. Light ale fruitiness, but not much else. A touch of alcohol headiness, but not enough hops to pass for a pale ale.
2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 Arnie (274) - Chicagoland, IL, Illinois, USA - JUL 21, 2006
On tap at brewery. Too bland, there’s not much to this beer. I’d expect stronger hops and more complexity. What I got was less hops, more bread. Standard color and head.
3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 gws57 (1236) - Saint Charles, Illinois, USA - JUN 4, 2006
UPDATED: AUG 12, 2007 Had this on draught in South Barrington, Illinois. For a pale ale, I was left wanting. Not particularly hoppy in the nose or the taste, but more balanced than I’m used to. Copper color, thin head. Smooth, almost bland finish. Not bad, but not a good example of the type.
2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20 drywallman (292) - Lake in the Hills, Illinois, USA - MAR 28, 2006
This was a light brown slightly grainy malt containing ale. The hops were there in a slightly grassy mode to balance the malt. Nothing impressive, but worth drinking.
