COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This is a high gravity beer that is our Brewmaster Extreme Series we released in 2011. Our dark Belgian ale brewed with rye brings on a massive range of characters. Aromas that are spiced, malty and even slightly intoxicating. Flavors that are on the dry roaty and maybe even a little on the tart side. Low level of bitterness. This one was a pain in the butt to brew so you better enjoy it!

Thanks GT2! Mahogany pour. Nose holds big Belgian sweetness, a touch of rye spiciness, and some diaper. Flavor is much of the same; thick sweet Belgian, high gravity, rotten vegetables, not appealing. Might pour the rest of this one out.

Pours pours a dark reddish brown color, looks like motor oil when your pouring it, very high viscosity. Aroma is very grainy, rye I guess, plums and dark fruitiness. Taste is very grainy also, lots of rye, and very very malty, some roastyness, lots of caramel maltyness. Very thick stuff, almost syrupy. Really pretty good for how unusual it is int he texture department.

355mL thanks to BeerHawk11. Hazier to muddy deep amber to brown pour with a thicker beige head. Great retention. Nose is a little funky with sharp minerals and mild dark fruits, raisins, mild alcohol, vanilla extract. Interesting. Smells like Chimay yeast. Taste is old, sugary papaya and cantaloupe juice. Almost like thick, juicy, expired mango juice. Interesting to say the least. Sharp, astringent, papery finish doesn’t help. Bland and papery finale. Mild green leafy vegetal character is not helping. Tangy, metallic finish. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Thanks GT2! Dark brown pour with a thin white head. Dark fruit, candy sugar, and hints of diaper lead to moderately rotten malts, and extreme sweetness. Medium to full body with thin carbonation. Yuck.

Pours a hazy ruddy brown with a 2 finger, fluffy, tan head. The liquid coats the glass nicely and leaves nice lacing. Aroma is chocolate, dark fruit, perfumey floral hops, citrus, wet limestone, sweet bread spice and dark caramel. Flavor is caramel, chocolate, dark fruit, husky grain, spicy, citrus and floral hops, earthy must, sweet bread spice, leather and a little roast. Lighter, fruity, berry-like notes and some booziness, come out in the aroma and taste as it warms. Palate is weird, very weird. Basically the viscosity and consistency of blood. Super thick, creamy, slick and slightly dry, lightly carbonated. Very strange beer. Looks, smells and tastes good, but the feel is a little tough to wrap my head around, though not necessarily all bad.

UPDATED: JAN 1, 2012 Dark plum reddish brown color not much head.Palate is unbelievable, aroma is a bit yeasty with a mild dark fruit malt. Kinda sweet and mildly fruity nothing extraordinary.A little chocolate maybe vanilla like.Somewhat bready.Pretty nice malty aroma. Thick head on another bottle i tried, Palate is uncanny, smooth slick sweet slippery . Pretty unique kind of palate its like layers of cream and slickness, oily i guess.leaving a roasty nutty carmelly somewhat chocolatly taste with a nice noticable bitteness pretty nice.Bit of tartness in the finish with a lasting lingering mildtartness kind of cleaning up the sweetness.Nice dessert like sipping beer. The middle candy like taste is really nice. Its not super belgiany either but pretty malty. A litle bit of off yeast old kind of taste though The finish is very creamy chewy thick a touch of roast and slight saltiness, with a mild bittering very mildly herbal/citrus fits well.

Bottle to glass. Sweet mercy, this beer is thick. As in, so dense I could see the bubbles break out their climbing gear to get to the top of the pour. Fairly large sticky head that fades to a skim with nice lacing. The thickness of the pour makes me wary of the next sip....Aroma is big, big dark fruit, some toffee, figs, raisins, caramel, brown sugar. Light yeast. Taste is like diluted Belgian candy syrup. Lots of fruit, some spice, esters, sticky caramel and brown sugar. Cloying. Lingering spice and alcohol finish. Booze does nothing to lift this off the tongue though. Going to have a heck of a time finishing this one....And with that, I realize I can’t get past more than a few sips of this one. The mouthfeel is simply too much.

Dark brown with lasting head and lace. Strong herbal aroma with toasted caramel bread and fruit. Very spicy herbal caramel fig dough with spicy herbal medium bitter finish. Very complex and assertive. Very good.

The body is deep brown, nearly black. It has a thin light khaki head at the edges. The nose has some sweet toasted walnuts and a toffee. There is a hint of leather funk. The body is as thick and viscous as any brew I have had recently. There is some pear and tobacco. There is also some leather and a little. Bit of cola. Nice tasting, but the thick as snot body makes this tough to drink. Very off putting.

12 oz bottle. Pours a very dark brown with dense tan head. The pour is noticeably viscous. The aroma is heavy with molasses and raisin notes, with a bit of an ashy hint, some chestnut, a strange alcohol note, and actually a detectable note of rye. First thing I notice upon sipping is the dense, oily mouthfeel. So chewy it’s offputting. Anyway, slightly burnt raisin bread comes to mind. There are some cocoa and rye notes in there, along with a woody and ashy hint. The finish is oily and slightly bitter with an earthy hop deal. Would be good without the texture issues.
