2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 fidelis83 (1354) - Clinton, Iowa, USA - MAY 20, 2012
Pale gold with a fluffy white head. Cereal grain, bready yeast and florla and spicy hops to the nose. Flavor is a little on the weak side cereal grain, light malt sweetness, a little toast, sweet grass, floral, spicy and light citrus hops to the finish. Neutral to off dry feel with a somewhat light, but sharp carbonation. Not bad, a little on the watery side though.
3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 DrnkMcDermott (2450) - Downers Grove, Illinois, USA - MAY 8, 2012
Draft at Millstream. $3.25 for pint. I had a taster of this at first while trying their doppelbock, but decided to chase it down with this. Very pale in a glass taster, but there’s a little more color to be seen in the larger cup, even if it is white plastic. A thin layer of fizz instead of the bubbly head of a canned lager. Toasty malt smell with a side of peppery Noble hops. Taste: well, I still have some of the doppel stuck to my tongue, but this is darn hearty. Clearly a full grain beer with a light pils toast. Interesting that the ingredient list above shows no real surprises in specialty grains. It’s hard to find a pils with any great complexity by definition, but then again, I can appreciate a beer with everything a light lager should have and no shortcuts or off tastes. On the unseasonably warm March day that I tasted this, the cup warmed up enough to let a bit of ester off the beer. Happy little burp at the finish.

Bottle. Pale gold with a bright white head. The nose is a grainy with a little bit of citrus. There is also hay. The taste is grassy with a little bit of oranges. There is also some bread crust in the sweet finish. This is decent, but would be even better if it wasn’t so sweet.
2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 Pawola22 (2211) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - JUN 4, 2011
12oz bottle. Pours a crystal clear, straw colored body with a finger-width, frothy, white head that dissipates slowly and leaves a pretty nice lacing throughout. Aroma is light with some pale pils cracker malts, a light bread, a touch of grass, and a few citrus florals. Flavor is similar. Pale, bready pils malts with a light floral citrus. Finishes with a nice, light grass and some bready pale malts. Very light bitterness that helps this somewhat dry before leaving a shorter aftertaste. Light body and somewhat crisp, moderate carbonation. Overall, a decent pils. Has a light grassy, floral citrus and some pale, bready malts offering a touch of sweetness. Nothing special, but easy drinking and unoffensive.
3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 durhambeer (2102) - Durham, North Carolina, USA - MAY 25, 2011
Bottle from my main man Andy. Pours bright clear golden with a fluffy white head. Nose of fresh white bread, a decent amount of sweetness (honey), and delicate floral/grassy hops. Taste brings out a bit of an added cereal element. Clean, light, and refreshing after the two cocktails I had before.

Draft. Poured a clear golden color with a bubbly white head. Pale malt, noble hop, corn cereal aromas. Light to medium bodied and a bit too sweet. Tasted of cereal grain, honey, and a bit of noble hop.
3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 wlajwl (1810) - Quad Cities, Iowa, USA - APR 13, 2011
Tastes and aroma is similar to a helles/pilsner hybrid, with the bread flavor mixed with the pilsner dryness. A good pilsner overall, Millstream has been making some good beers as of late.
3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 nuplastikk (2615) - Madison, Wisconsin, USA - APR 4, 2011
12oz bottle. Slightly hazy yellow-tan. Thin, soapy head. Mild aroma, some fresh lemon and doughy malt. A pretty nice Pilsner, somewhat yeasty medium body. Solid noble hops really capture the essence of the style. Not quite World Class, but a well executed offering.

On tap @ Millstream. Light yellow appearance with a white head. Light German hoppy, lager nose. Light grainy malty flavor on mild German hops. Easy drinking but not all that exciting of flavor.
