3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Mahogany with a slowly dissolving medium brown crown. Aroma is sweet and grainy with soy sauce, artificial chocolate, toasted malts and pumpkin spices. Taste is weird with chocolate, pumpkin, cocoa powder, mild pumpkin spices, roasted malt and a little heat on the finish.

2.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
Aroma is malts, fruit, candy and a somewhat strange sweetness. The flavor is artificial berry flavor, malts and an odd tangy finish.

1.8 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20
The beer pours a very dark brown with hints of light around the edges. Not a whole lot of head, but not a huge aggressive pour, too much junk in the bottom of the glass. What head that there is is a light tan color. Aroma is chocolate with a hint of nuttiness. There seems to be an almost medicinal quality to this beerís aroma. The beer has a funky astringency to it. There is a sweetness. The chocolate is still there and so is the nuttiness. I am getting the pumpkin, but it comes across in two ways. The first reminds me of a reeses peanut butter cup. The second reminds me of the smell of a pumpkin when you are cleaning it out for carving. Body is very thin for an imperial stout. Not great.

A bit disappointing for a stout. I donít find any pumpkin in the aroma, but thereís lots of chocolate and nuttiness. A bit thin on the palate. Just ok.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
12oz bottle 10/2/13 (Hy-Vee Cedar Rapids)-38į in Snifter-Pours black with a small tan head. Aroma of sweetness, chocolate, and spices. Taste of chocolate and more chocolate along with some spices. This medium bodied brew is not bad for a sweet stout bit it is slightly lacking in the pumpkin aspect.

Tap at Happy Gnome. Near black with a tan head. Chocolate, malty, light pumpkin, cinnamon and milk. Dryly sweet. Body is creamy with soft carbonation. Tasted really good at first, but has a lingering dry chocolate flavor thatís not as great.

12oz to snifter. Stout colored pour. Roasted aroma. A little bit of pumpkin spice aroma. Chocolatey roasted malt flavor that finishes with an odd sour bitterness.

2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20
On draught at the Crescent Moon
The beer pours basically black with a big head and good lacing on the glass.
The aroma is like an apple spice scented candle, no more... no less... ok maybe a little more, like some cotton candy, a touch of rostiness. Way sweet & spicy smelling.
The flavor is apple, cinnamon & other rich spices at a level that itís a touch weird. The beer is lightly bitter & lightly roasty, very sweet with some jolly rancher character. itís actually rather clean but itís just beyond weird and not especially stouty...

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Richmond 19th. Medium to dark brown. Aroma of chocolate and pumpkin. Lots of chocolate in the nose. Flavor is tons of chocolate, a faint hint of pepsin. Vanilla too. Really quite nice. Not sure I would have detected pumpkin on the aroma if there hadnít been a big orange one on the label here.
