UPDATED: DEC 30, 2013 Tap at Muddy Waters. Dark brown pour with a light tan head. This smells and tastes artificial - some spice and pumpkin, but artificially sweet. Pretty weak effort.

Disappointment; bready cinnamon, banana and some sort of wild tartness; overwhelm the palate before the very smooth mouthfeel can even be enjoyed.

12 oz bottle. This effort had its ups and downs. Certain sips I wanted to love it, but other times, it just didnít quite fit. The pumpkin fruitiness comes across as almost candy-like and distracts from the overall product. The is foremost about the cocoa, dark roasted malts, and hazy caramel cookie. Then some sweet pumpkin, sugar, and candy corn come into play. Pour has minimal white head, an oily body, and deep brown-burnt orange in color. Flavor is slightly lighter than expected, richly sweet and without enough bitter to balance. Candy malts, caramel, cocoa, roasted grains, and cherries predominate. Some herb and earth. Finishes sweet and sugary, but with some light herb. This has its interesting/unique moments for sure, but maybe isnít quite the complete package.

Has some butterscotch and nutmeg scents, almost like egg nog. Taste is really weird, almost like a cherry candy or watermelon jolly rancher, pretty bad. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pumpkin, vanilla and chocolate malt all moshing together. Its a little on the sweet side (which I like) and also pretty boozy in the finish (which I also like). I would be happy to have this again, but Iím wondering why the need for íartificial flavorsí? I guess I canít talk too much smack since Iíve never brewed a pumpkin beer, but I imagine someone just dropping in some pumpkin and vanilla extract from the grocery store and calling it good.... Iím sure this is easier than the real deal, but I have to think the real deal would be better.

Pottle recommended to me by the beer warden. Deep, dark brown with a small khaki head. Rich chocolate and roast coffee aroma with some pumpkin, clove, nutmeg, and cinnamon in the background. Pretty damn nice. The flavor doesnít do as much for me. Taste is pumpkin muffins and chocolate. It doesnít come together for me. Itís a bit sweeter than I care for, but it is still pretty enjoyable.

Although one can pick up a bit of the spice as it warms, there is very little pumpkin and the larger character from the addition of whatever they put into this besides the basic imperial stout is to produce an oddly fruity, grab-bag floral quality. Not for me. The Impy is fine enough, but the carbonation prevents this from taking on a very rich palate. Bottle.

12 oz. bottle. Pours brown black and somewhat oily and shows a tight khaki mocha looking head that fades to a wispy film and creamy collar. Aroma is strange and I canít tell if its good or bad I get a crazy aromatic scent, but I am guessing its pumpkin and roasted chocolate malt. Taste is again a crazy mix of aromatic pumpkin and chocolate coffee and some faint nutmeg cinnamon in the finish. Palate is full and slick with a chalky dry finish. I have to say this is very interesting and it is worth a pick up of a single bottle.

Pours near black with a 1 finger, creamy, tan head. Aroma is pumpkin, pie spice, vanilla, chocolate, light roast, plum, lactose and nice dark caramel. Flavor is pie spice, a little too much allspice or nutmeg, artificial vanilla, chocolate, light pumpkin, a hint of roast and a light medicinal bitterness. Palate is heavy in body with a creamy to oily feel throughout and an light carbonation. Nice beer overall, the aroma while seeming a bit artificial is very inviting, sort of reminds me of ST Pumking.

Pours black with slight amount of tan head. Im not getting much aroma. The pumpkin is kind of subtle. Mixed in with a pretty good malt profile, roast, Chocolate, coffee, and a tab bit of vanilla. Slightly creamy texture. Pretty good stuff.
