From the bottle poured a dark brown brew with a tan head. Wonderful aromas of chocolate, malt, sweet tobacco. Flavors of chocolate, lightly coffeed. Medium bodied and a bit dry.

12 ounce bottle courtesy of pepsican and shared at the 19th Richmond Ratebeer Gathering. Pours a clear dark red color with lots of tiny black floating particles. Aroma of pumpkin, chocolate, mild roasted notes, mild nuttiness. The taste is nuttiness, pumpkin, caramel, chocolate, vanilla. Medium bodied, astringent. Meg.

Bottle:   Nearly black, thin tannish sudsy head, little lacing.   Odd spicy sweet potato and roasted malt nose.   Spicy start, but more of a spiced candle than anything.   Sweet too.   When I read the description I see it was brewed with artificial flavor.   Nail on the head, artificial, as thats how it tastes.   Has a weird fancy vanilla candle aspect.   Yeah, autumn spiced candle with vanilla.   Some overly sweet mocha like notes on the finish.   This was tough...

Black color with a medium head. Dark fruit and a tannic aroma. Roasty flavor. Slightly acrid. A bit tart and dry. Could have been the start of an infection.

JStax (3248) - Devola/Marietta, Ohio, USA - NOV 26, 2012
Poured from a 12 ounce bottle thanks to pepsiedcan. Thanks. Pours a dense black with a beige head of foam that dissipates quickly to a ring around the edge of the glass. The aroma is sweet and coffeeish. Kind of like a pumpkin latte. The taste is very sweet. The artificiality is a little too much in the forefront.

12oz bottle. Well this is a unique one. Syrupy, oily chocolate syrup and a candy pumpkin sugariness. Remember those orange pumpkin candies? This tastes like they dumped those in the boil. Sweet and not really that refined of a venture, like a sub par Southern Tier offering. Too imperial.

Bottled. Black and it starts with a nice head. Low carbonation. Lightly roast flavor and some vegetable character. Grain and some alcohol. It isnít very good, thin palate. "Stout brewed with artificial flavor?" I canít believe that is the best they could do.

UPDATED: DEC 30, 2013 Tap at Muddy Waters. Dark brown pour with a light tan head. This smells and tastes artificial - some spice and pumpkin, but artificially sweet. Pretty weak effort.

Disappointment; bready cinnamon, banana and some sort of wild tartness; overwhelm the palate before the very smooth mouthfeel can even be enjoyed.

12 oz bottle. This effort had its ups and downs. Certain sips I wanted to love it, but other times, it just didnít quite fit. The pumpkin fruitiness comes across as almost candy-like and distracts from the overall product. The is foremost about the cocoa, dark roasted malts, and hazy caramel cookie. Then some sweet pumpkin, sugar, and candy corn come into play. Pour has minimal white head, an oily body, and deep brown-burnt orange in color. Flavor is slightly lighter than expected, richly sweet and without enough bitter to balance. Candy malts, caramel, cocoa, roasted grains, and cherries predominate. Some herb and earth. Finishes sweet and sugary, but with some light herb. This has its interesting/unique moments for sure, but maybe isnít quite the complete package.
