COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Pale Ale's on the coasts of this country are turning into hoppy monsters, but our beer is more mild, and about balance. It has enough bitterness to match the maltiness provided by the pale malt base. It gets its citrus zing from extensive dry-hopping with Cascade hops. This beer was first made in a few small test batches in 2003. The response was so incredibly positive, that it has worked it’s way into a year round beer. A hoppy IPA in the central plains... how exciting!

12 oz bottle. Pours a clear dark copper body with a nice foamy beige head that had good staying power. The nose is nice green leafy hops with some subtle caramel maltiness. A little grainy maybe. The taste is pretty bitter up front at first, but once you get used to it it seems rather murky. Light leafy floral hops with a grainy crystal malt iced tea finish. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with moderate fizzy carbonation. Overall, a fairly run of the mill IPA, it didn’t stand out at all, and by the end of the bottle I actually got a bit tired of it.

UPDATED: JUL 2, 2009 Nice fluffy head with plenty of lace. There is a good citrusy hop aroma, flavor has very nice bitterness playing on fruity citrus like hoppiness. This has a little more cascade than I prefer, but it is very tasty and one of the best beers in Iowa no doubt.

Bottle from brentk56. Pretty light aroma, some light citrus and a little light malt sweetness. Pours golden orange with a decent lasting head. Flavors of sweetish caramel, bread, and iced tea followed by some light citrus notes. Some dryness in the finish, but not too hoppy or anything. Not overly impressive.
